I'm out of doll pictures for now - I found one of the chainmail barbarian Barbies and a chainmailed Intruderman, but that would be stuff gotten out and posed, not stuff already laying around on display.  Likewise some Star Trek dolls...

True enough.  I was sorta amusedly demonstrating the World Of Dolls I live in, but that's not the actual theme of the thread.  I'll go find the camera...

Well, For Great Justice, here's a doll that belongs to me - I actually own quite a few, but this is the only one I know of that's not back in America.  As you can see the chainmail is real chainmail.  There's at least a barbarian Ken and Barbie around here that we haven't been able to find yet, and the swords, which are also real.  Not much of a trick to hammering a sword blade out of a nail, though smoothing and polishing to make it nice is something else entirely.

You should see my human scale chainmail - that took a little more work, but that stuff's all back in America, too.

The caveman is an original 1970's Intruderman, bad guys (from OUTER SPACE!) from the GI Joe line back when Joe was taller than Barbie.  You can see a little of the armor they came with under the chainmail.  I also have the lighter-haired Intruderman in the silver armor somewhere...

Here is Star Trek Barbie and Ken, accompanied by Chekov from another ST doll set.  Naturally, Chekov is chained up - they happen to be on a landing party on the same planet as the chainmail barbarians, and stuff like that happens to Chekov.  A couple of Starfleet members from that planet of giants, Ensigns Barbie ("I tink I vill like this mission wery wery much," Chekov said upon being introduced) and Ken, went along as native guides.  Notice that Ensign Ken has gotten his uniform ripped during the rescue.  I believe Mom made his shirt.

Ensign Barbie is no longer paying attention to Ken, having made tentative plans to keep Chekov as her 'pocket boyfriend'.

We went to a number of antique shops and malls on our recent trip. Generally these places tend to frown on if not outright forbid picture taking....I assume it's to prevent burglary and counterfeiting.

I did manage to snap a couple of pictures of creepy dolls anyway.

Wasn't trying for authenticity, or I'd have made her plate armor.  It's a pity you can't see more of the page - his chainmail is deliberately too long for him; it's really cute.
