Nothing has sprung to mind all day, but I'm a little distracted.

Observation:  Halloween festivities began in mid september in most of Utah.  Vegas, not till October 3rd.

I'm not a fan of early holidays.  It's just so --- nakedly greedy.

But when your BUSINESS is to put on a haunted house, it makes little sense to limit your business by opening late.  Harvest Moon has always been the standard I'm aware of.

Observation:  Couldn't even go to dinner in California without bumping into a haunted house.  And according to the website, it's been open since EARLY AUGUST!  THAT is early. 

Tried to talk my niece and nephew into going in with me and they were mortified.

No we didn't.  When you've been around as long as me, you know what is what before you even step inside.  This was a recently-turned-pro setup.  Maybe second year if I had to put a guesstimate together.  They will either be quaint or cliche, and likely a mixture of the two.  It was pleasantly enough priced, we may go back when time is more readily available. 

Observation:  Walt was a huge fan of the dark ride.  Makes me wonder if that was the best technologically available way of the day, or if he was just a fan of the dark ride.  How would he feel about the newer, technologically superior, but not always aesthetically superior 'attractions'?

Overall, Disney's Halloween decor is something less than impressive.

Me too, kinda. 

The Boss's MOM (who keeps halloween at arms length, mind you) brought it up, so this isn't a just not up to Uno standards thing.

Sad that, in general, the local amusement park does a better job with the makeover aspect.  I'll be doing some pics later.  Now, there are AREAS that are superbly done, but overall it feels somehow lacking, as in, they leave A LOT that could have been easily managed. 

And I KNOW Knotts and Universal blow Disney out of the water there.  This isn't a 'kiddie friendly' issue either. 

Now, Disney has put a lot of effort into their special PARTY that requires ADDITIONAL ENTRANCE FEES.  But that's another big post all together.

Disney is rich and fat, and these things tend to happen when you're rich and fat.  I bet that's all there is to it.
