My daughter is not so much a doll person, but has taken a shine to her lone Monster high doll.  I might need to be concerned that it tends to imprison all the disney princesses....

Those Princesses are always getting into trouble and in need of  somebody to rescue them, unless she's Mirada The Brave, then she can do it herself.

Yeah, they sell kits where you can snap together torsos, legs, arms, and heads, and then apply decals for the eyes and mouth.  I guess there's wigs available too.

I think simply "Dolls" will do nicely.  That's easy to to remember, long enough to search, and general enough for everyone's purposes.

Ah, those are absolutely NORMAL.  You want with the creepy dolls, I can point you to whole sections on where to buy and how to make them.

I disagree and think you know better - something really mundane looking will catch you off-guard and has far more potential for true immersive horror than anything that puts the victim on guard by LOOKING all gothic or whatever right up front.  You know that, even though you work in a little more obvious stuff; you're not interested in giving anyone a heart attack.

The eye brows or lashes or whatever they are on that googly doll look like a whipstitch. As if it were a Frankendoll.

My grandmother was a doll collector. She had hundreds more Barbies than I ever did, and she made her own Cabbage Patch dolls and carved doll heads out of dried apples and made bodies and clothes for them.

One day, one of my typing clients came to the house and noticed a bunch of these shrunken, carved apple doll heads hanging from various hooks in the kitchen. She got a bit freaked out, so I put on my most innocent face and said, "Oh, my grandmother is a headhunter. Didn't I mention that?"
