That's a punching dummy torso.  I have two in the shed. Make decent monsters with a costume over them.

They could should have rigged some bag of sand effect with the torso - it was too stiff for such a sophisticated component, and Worf picked it up like it was three pounds of styrofoam, which it surely was, mostly.  Fifty pounds of sand around the frame with the rest of the stuffing, and it would flex slightly in the middle and make Michael Dorn grunt slightly hefting it.  This is FX 101 stuff, folks, and some professionals with a feature film budget failed.  -All the exposed parts laying there active is beyond lame, too.

I can't find when it was taken, but looking at his nose, not earlier than the 90s, I think.  It's incredible how much difference the right hair makes, is all.  Why couldn't the movies have given us an old Kirk who looked like Kirk?

Talk about disappointment - I saw earlier this week that the next episode of Continues was coming out the next day, so a few hours ago I went looking for it.

I'd conflated March with May.  It's coming out in two months, not the day before yesterday...

Let me underline:  this photo struck me profoundly on first sight.  It looks like old Kirk, not Bill Shatner in his long decline.

Everyone noticed the strange hair back in 1979, but you know, that right there's something we were cheated out of in ALL the movies - Kirk just didn't look like Kirk, and it wasn't because he got old and fat.  Cheated, I tell you.
