Yeah...Quikrete read the review and asked me to compare/contrast their product with the hotwire foam product.  It's cheaper, A LOT cheaper, like 10% the cost, and in the local Home depot.  I was offered some free, but I don't do reviews for money.

The actual movie is something of an enigma. 

Fantastic new character with the potential to be iconic, the intertwining story motif that really fits the holiday, decent acting for the genre, rather unique take on a couple things....and it misses the mark by alienating it's intended audience.  "Horror movies need to be rated R" rule got horridly misapplied, adding some REALLY poor decisions to reach the rating, and ultimately resulting in a direct to DVD release.

I guess that's my point.  This kind of thing WAS traditional to some folks at some point in time.  I knew of one such church, decorated in skulls but turns out there's dozens built around the same period. 

No, it don't fit what I'm doing, but it's fascinating none the less. 

I mean just LOOK how many people's remains were just shoved in there to decorate for these few more honored church officials.

Starting to get the transi together.  At a point where I'm waiting for things to dry, so figured may as well post.

So, to recount.  Primary inspiration for my transi is these two.




However, because I enjoy it, and it saves me from doing ears, I chose this style face.



I still want the shroud from the other two, so it'll be some kind of menagerie. 


Little Great stuff to get the proper support and give the thing an overall height and support. 



If you're thinking that's not enough ribs, you're right, but I chose to do that to get better definition when I started the corpse/sculpt/I got really no idea what to call it.

The stomach expanse is too great to leave hollow, especially where there's going to be some monster mud going over top of this area, so gotta put in some intestines...




Currently waiting for it to cure....

Taking stock, realistically, I'll probably only be able to get the stomach area done this weekend, then need to take a break for a while.  I need more supplies and I need to slow down with the skull or figure something else out.  My original plan isn't looking so bright right now, this isn't a normal skeleton, and waterproofing the mouth the way I was going to go about it would have been next to impossible.  Time to slow down and think it over.
