Yeah, apparently it's a huge waste of money.   >:(

The 2 mixtures that performed the best were the ones mixed with their "bounce" and Mod Podge (which I believe is all "bounce" is).

Well, on a whim, I did a coating of just Mod Podge, and it's better than any of them.  So, I'm going to go with my Alec-zander template and decopage some cheese cloth onto the tomb with mod podge as a protective coat, then seal it with some masonry sealer paint.

Are you talking about basically shellaced cloth instead of foam for the decoration, then?

No, just the protective coat.

Well, the sculptures are going to be monster mud, so yeah, I guess that kinda fits shellaced cloth.

Probably for the best - I was having trouble seeing how the foam would weather much handling.

Think Stucco.

Most your decorative signs (say, a bear holding a sign, or the sculptures round attractions at Disneyland) are now made of foam, and coated with various products.

The trick is finding the right product for the right price.  Disney, apparently, uses some mixture of the product I just tried out.

But, it's a whole different set of environmental conditions they're dealing with.  It's very good stuff until you really abuse the hell out of it.  However, after losing most my stuff to weather over the last couple years, I'm considering worst case scenarios.  I decided last year, my stuff will withstand EVERYTHING.

Like the Chimera still sitting out in front of my house.  Wind storms rip out trees and roofs, winter destroys garden ornaments out this way, Chimera is still standing there mocking the elements.  (and annoying the neighbors)

Good news/bad news.

Good:  We have a ribcage!
Bad:  Taking more plaster wrap than I expected.

ETA on skeleton: Tomorrow night.
ETA on Transi:  Weekend.
ETA on completed lid...depends how much cloth costs.

All bones accounted for.  Have decided on waiting for final assembly till I'm ready for the monster mud, because I don't want to be manipulating this more than I need to, and I can attach it to the lid during assembly.
