Pretty artworks though ! Although I'll have to admit that I myself am not as good when making fan art . I made this fanart mainly because of the name of both the faction leader and the cartoon character in question. This time, I Harvey Beaks' mom a fundamentalist bent on destroying anyone who is not a believer (Which she isn't on the show, she's a former rockstar turned librarian). Why did I do this? Background of Voice actors, thats why.

Miriam Beaks is voiced by Kerri Kenney-Silver, an actress known for her role as Trudy WIEGEL in Reno 911.

Sister Miriam Godwinson's voice? Gretchen WEIGEL.

Spelling's different but almost the same . A Wiegel/Weigel voicing Miriam......

I didn't know the show so didn't understand why you were doing Miriam up this way.  But it is a funny result!

They shared the same names . It's what got me to playing the game in the first place. Back then, I tried out Beyond Earth and saw on the forums that Alpha Centauri was better. At that time, I was already a fan of the Nickelodeon show Harvey Beaks. I was curious to see what factions it had to offer so I had to play it. I checked the factions out and saw that the Lord's Believers was led by Miriam, who happened to share the name with Harvey's mom. At first I didn't want to think similarly of them (They have different stories ), but when I saw the meta (VA backgrounds of both Miriams), that's when I decided to create this crossover of characters. Hell, the husband of said character, Irving, is voiced by Scott Adsit; who also happens to voice Clay Puppington, the mayor of the FUNDAMENTALIST town known as Moralton in the Adult Swim show Moral Orel.
Sooner or later, I decided to imagine Harvey as a crazy fundie as well (And like his mom, he isn't in the real show, although he's obsessed with cleanliness), thus my profile pic . He actually isn't praying in the show, He's explaining something. It just so happens that it looks like he is thanks to the hand position. I just cut and pasted his pic in a sunset to give that Be(ak)liever vibe  . Said background is also from the show BTW.

Of course it is meant to be silly . Taking a fairly innocent and cute cartoon show then having its characters delve around politics in a hostile and alien planet is something that is not meant to be taken seriously.
I mean imagine a bluebird launching a planet buster at your beloved observatories because they spell out blasphemy. That sounds pretty off doesn't it?
Other than that, all I could say is that anything silly can happen once someone gets a hold of the Faction Editor. You want a cat to lead a mighty empire in Chiron? Then the Faction Editor is the application that you need to get started! Maybe even have Spongebob, Shrek or even Mickey Mouse as leaders! The Faction Editor can achieve that for you....

A Saruman faction is almost serious, just gratuitously inserting fantasy in a sci-fi setting.  A Frodo faction is pretty ridiculous.  Try to imagine the great inspiring quotes of fearless leader Frodo!  "I'm glad you are here, at the end of all things."
