My brother, the inestimable Buncle,  has encouraged me to post some more pictures I've done of Alpha Centauri characters here.  So here goes...

Ohh!  Those are all new to me.  I've never seen your Aki.

sisko wears one of your old Roze shots as his avatar on another forum, you know.

Oh, that's cool!   ;b;

I should say officially that everyone on this forum has my permission to copy and use the images I post here any way that they would like --for avatars, decorations for your own website, whatever...  Feel free to modify them in any way that you want to.

He loves him some Roze and yours was awesome - and don't worry about a bunch of fans feeling free to textually poach.

Folks, a friend of hers wrote the "Textual Poaching" dissertation I sometimes reference in regards to fan-repurposing of other people's work.  She understood it better than me, so she's a good one to discuss the ethical issues with.

She didn't mention, but it's polite to leave her credit on where it's practical when you use her work.  Obviously, avatars, for example, aren't practical for that.

"Textual Poachers" is an excellent book by Henry Jenkins (who I used to know through a Trek "round robin" back in those dimly remembered days before we had the Intertubes to talk to each other through.)

I enjoyed reading it, and I, a layman with only a bachelor's degree, recommend the mass-market version that is no doubt what's linked above.  I think I've posted that or simular link before elsewhere.  Every bookish fandom-type fan ought to be familiar with it.

It discusses this thing all we creative fans inevitably do -very well.  It's all about fan art, on-topic for this thread, fanfiction, and covers the ideas behind what game modders do, too, despite being too early to have actually discussed games much.

BTW, your Aki needs a longer nose, IMAO.
Just Longer nose or Longer face too?
Maybe a longer face - definitely the nose, though I've only seen that one angle in that one shot.  Comparing to the leaderhead is more reliable than me talking from memory, of course, but she has a small very pointed face, and maybe should have more chin than at the angle you used above.  Very small-boned small woman, I think.  Very pixyish physically, but a cold half-computer personality.  I imagine she was only a little shy before whe put all the wires in her brain.  So think Vulcan about that.  Watch out for a natural tenency for cold to look haughty or, especially, mean.

Looked, I think, a lot less Helen Mirren and a bit more Michelle Pfifer before the wires, if that helps.

Snap reaction without looking at the official leaderhead - more pointed jawline to the face.  The eyes are still intense, threatening to look mean instead of merely cold and computerish.  Bald and not actually comparing confuses the issue, so I may be wrong.

The expression of the eyes is right now, I think. ;b;  You always had the browline nailed.

The eyes may be too wideset - I think think Aki is actually a bit to the contrary, isn't she?  Does her nose really do that thing where the bridge disappears?

A little more Mirren perhaps...
