I also yesterday saw the modification I did of a HUGE This Thread Is Not Worthy Without Pics smiley - I deem my considerable reduction Worthy for This Forum, so here -the code's semicolon pics and it's at the bottom of the zoo.  Check the hovertext.

We've had a technical snafu when I saw an option in the admin panel to update smilie sets - and that added several lines of junk to the Reply Page lineup.  -While zapping those, it looks like I got a few of the usual suspects --- what's missing, if anyone notices?  There was only barely room for E_T on the row before, and clap and impatient weren't there...

Edit: My Mistake.  That was already added to the zoo. -that's semicolon aaa.  Semicolon panic now also works.

Attached is Flux's original impatient smiley.  It was a pretty job, but I immediately loaded it in GIMP and hit Autocrop, 'cause it was floating two feet off the floor that simple step got it from 40 pixels tall to 26 - it's 28 wide, but wide doesn't make line spacing look awful.

So noting the long legs, I took a run at trimming it down this afternoon.  Now it's 20, a proper-height smiley, didn't take much of a quality hit in the process and the filesize is almost halved. <-

I did some cleanup on , brought it closer to house style, took out the bit on the C that looked a little like G - and reduced the height seven pixels, to 38, so that much less line-breaking.  Compare to the attachment.

With dismay, I must admit that I'm suddenly an admin at Poly.  Serious.

And since I'm working up a small Christmas smilie set for them, I think I'll add same to the zoo here...

And does that mean you have a part of the advertisement income from the site as well?

Solver -gleefully- killed all the ads when he moved it to his server and Ming took ownership 1.5 years ago.  No $.  I made Ming an offer -mostly smilies stuff, some bothammering, it turns out I'm doing some admin housekeeping he's not comfortable with- and here we are.  I also made Browd at CFC an offer Sunday to run their AC, but surely nothing will come of that.

Ming really wanted some help w/ non-member management. I think.  I'm a techie by comparison.

As soon as I had access, I created another subforum for the Spanish section and gave Astrologix moar powahs.  Ming approved after.  I seem to have a free hand, but I must show good judgement and not abuse like I could.  I also need to not let it become a long-term daily timesink to AC2's detriment.

I rather enjoy tinkering with a forum; it's kinda like doing a puzzle.

SO - I have the option, and do use it, to have working smilies installed, but not show on any menu.  This is one ->   The implications for the 28 Christmas smilies I have on hand is obvious.  They'd be even better if I figured out how to make smilie sets - I bet just create a folder named Christmas Smilies on the server where the other sets are, and then they'd be a button click in the admin panel  away...

Aaand now to go hide these, and make the Christmas ;xwiglaf and install it.  I don't think the sets thing is gonna work.  So, a pain switching the lineup in December - maybe I'll just ADD the Christmas stuff to a second Reply box line...
