Want to See the Google Autocomplete Stereotypes for Each State? There’s a Map for ThatDaniel Bean Jan 27, 2014First spotted by The Wire, the online community Amazing Maps recently compiled the results from a project comprised of Google autocompletes of this partial phrase: “Why is [state] so.” The group substituted each of the 50 states into the query and created a, well, amazing map to showcase the responses, forming a visual representation of the stereotypes facing each state.According to Google, some popular questions about our fair country’s states are as follows: ”Why is Oklahoma so Republican?” ”Why is Nebraska so boring?” ”Why is Pennsylvania so haunted?” (Wait, why is Pennsylvania so haunted?)Check out the image tweeted by Amazing Maps below to see all the results yourself. And don’t forget to _____. (The Google autocomplete for that is “be awesome.”)
