...I'm thinking of an Alpha Centauri light theme.  Map-based, w/ bits of the game interface, now that I've got those bits handy...

-I'll be refreshing over ten times a day for two weeks before I can see all the changes since this morning -there were shenanigans around the beginning of the year with the [ctrl]f5 hard refresh no longer hard refreshing- but if you don't see the thumbnail for the default, I think you'll see all the latest as of now, going in for the first time --- then you'll be in the same boat as me, as I tinker and tweak.

-But I DO need other eyes reporting problems I can't see for a week or two...

And we're two brand new themes later - TypeRetro and 420AD.

-I note that I haven't gotten a great deal of feedback in my theme work since the beginning of the year - which is too bad, as they've benefitted greatly from my increased experience, and I think they're all pretty solid - not least, Alpha Centauri.

Clever boy.  Without even trying, you shamed me into checking out your work .   And I discovered I've forgotten how to chose a theme and then make it stick so I can get a good look at it.  Can't even remember which one I'm currently using, sheesh.

Either bottom right column, Select your theme - or your profile>Look and Layout>Choose theme.

You're currently in Firaxis, it appears.

  Ahh, figured it out: bottom right->select from the drop-down->*then click again on the window*.   Generally like dark themes as they give less glare with my funky old glasses' lenses.

Note that Old World/Mohawk Games, CivII, Civ 6, and Planet Tales all now default to appropriate themes.  -I think it's kinda cool to go into a sub and be in new surroundings.  Tell your friends.

So the Fall Equinox is coming up on the 23rd this year - I'm thinking that instead of making the default theme Halloween or Thanksgiving for the day, I'll make it Alpha Centauri.

It's some of my best work ever, and nobody's using it...

Re-experiencing Alpha-C right now - and you are right: it is a good one.

I just wanted to observe here that the newest theme, Alpha Centauri, never had a good chance to catch on, what with our downage problems --- it's excellent; check it out, please.
