I'm overall done with 6.  Won't have much to add about the GAME.  I tried it and it was so....hollow.  7....I can't even say I'm excited by the thought after 5/6

Not to sully the other thread but we've touched on a recent rabbit hole I've fallen into on the history of color, especially a fairly documented history of blue in particular, and how our brains perceive color in general with some really weird tests and findings. 

Color seems inherently tied to language where you literally don't see a color if you don't have a word for it. 

This lead into tetrachromacy studies, of which Talia very well may have.

I thought at first you meant RACE, which I do wish wasn't a third rail for anthropologists to touch.

-For instance, why do Greeks so poorly resemble their classical gods?  Is it all to be put to an admixture of Turkish blood -most assuredly not the answer the contemporary Greeks themselves would prefer, to put it lightly- or I bet there's also that 2 or 3 thousand years is plenty of time for the universe to select for the darkest of the Dorians to survive in the Mediterranean sun.

Betcha the Scandinavians' ancestors weren't all that pale when they settled the far north, and similar selection has happened.



-Obvious direct implications to the RamsII question, though they certainly seem to have already been brown there/then.

Actually it might be relevant to the discussion as it does not appear the Egyptians had words for skin colors and likely did not see a difference.  It's very much a modern 'problem' but a very controversial one for quite a few years now, which is why it's a little surprising to see a company take such a strong stance to one side on it.

Mmmaybe.  I strongly suspect there was a conscious decision to do that on the simple grounds that their core fanbase is pasty-white and probably mildly racist.

I see, millions of times at random spots on the innerwebs in recent years, people who seem to have sense and know history pointing out that race is a pretty modern construct.  I'm just curious about what-all made modern Greeks darker, and in what proportions.

Should I do a little thread surgery?  This is actually fine to get into here.  -Or there; I'm easy.

Did the Egyptians not have those words for skin tone, or did they just not use them on wall and monument inscriptions and anything else we've found?  How much would 'ruddy' tend to come up on tombstones and temples and royal propaganda monument inscriptions, really?
