I've been playing CivII for the last few months-
 

-and I decided it would be good to feature it more prominently w/ a dedicated sub.


...Have I missed any threads that ought to be moved here?  Member input -about anything to do with II and this folder- more than welcome...

Ooooh this is cool. Yup I can see a few things needing your attention...

Firstly you moved my FreeMars thread in here probably because I mentioned Civ2 in the title but the thread is not about Civ2. FreeMars is 'it's own' game so better off back in other games forum.

Is it cool with you if I make a copy of my scenario search and rescue thread here too? You've probably seen how on CFC and Poly etc I've pout one in each different Civ games's forum since you know what Civ fans are like, most will stick to the forum of their favourite and barely visit the others to so to engage as many people and find as much treasure as possible I like to have copy under each Civ game.

Btw I LOVE your Civ2 gifs mate. I saw the ones you posted at CFC a few weeks back too!

I really like the one you made out of the icons. Making the earth spin would have been tough.

Absolutely do those threads - they're content, they'll be new to someone.

(The globe, I modified from this huge thing I googled - it was a riDICulous number of frames per second, and was indeed tough to get down to 32 or so I used there.  Attached is a greatly reduced version.)

Oh wow.. that's a lot of work! But the results speak for themselves.

Any chance I can use it on my work in progress Civ2 tribute page? I'd credit you as it's creator on the page of course.

...If I was thinking of adapting the CivII theme I did at Poly for this folder, any suggestions?  Good idea?  Have this sub default to that, or just make it available?...

Ooooh so you're the one who made those cool in-game backgrounds for each Civ section at Poly the other day? I loved that!

Yeah that would be cool here and yeah turn it on by default otherwise most will never see it!

Woah.  It's been years since I worked on a new theme in SMF, and I've forgotten where everything is.  This is not going to happen in a day.

You'd probably be surprised how much of it is random - aside from the postbit background, the CivII interface textures were entered into background files for the title bars and buttons not knowing what would go just where.  Nothing much is labeled intuitively in SMF.  -But as long as it looked CivII-like, it was all good.

I'm tickled to have gotten it done in just three days; the Fake CFC theme took exactly a week, and I was in practice/knew where stuff was/went back then.
