I survived the (first) vaccination...
Head feels a bit heavy, like having a borderline headache, but that's it.

Work lifted the mask mandate today for those vaccinated. 

You need to show your card to get on the list...suddenly there's a huge push of people wanting vaccines...

Starting July 1, every (unvaccinated) Belgian adult is entitled to two free Corona tests for the purpose of vacation in another (European) country.
Not sure if I'll be able to take advantage of it. I took my car to the garage for scheduled maintenance and replacement of a timing belt, and things add up to a cost of €1600. Next week I need to go again for replacement of the disc brakes (included in the price). That's more then I thought of spending on a week abroad. 



Arm feels a bit painful when I press it in the area under the injection point. Nothing unusual, I more or less have the same with my annual flu vaccin.

Every employee at my workplace must now show vaccination records or negative regular COVID tests. I uploaded a copy of my records for the employment requirement. I wonder how many people in my workplace have not received the vaccination at this point . . .

Story on the news this afternoon about fake vax cards.

-Really upsetting that people would stoop that low.

They don't want a free vaccin, but are willing to pay money for a fake vax card.

I did some research on the Covid associated loss of smell, because I wondered when I should become concerned.

Most people recover about 2 weeks after.
About 1/4 will recover 2 months after.
95% recover in 6 months or less.

So, if I still have impaired sense of smell in mid July, it's time to be concerned.

My sense of smell has still not fully recovered. I suspect I'm missing nuances in wines. Otherwise, stinky things don't seem intense to me. I can recognize them, but they don't bother me. My wife has been complaining of an "old lady perfume smell" in the downstairs bathroom since the house was cleaned yesterday.  Sometimes I walk in and think I detect something faint, other times I smell nothing there. Normally perfume would make me sneeze.

So, it's not all bad for me. My sister-in-law and niece ( who caught it when I did from the same person) still can't smell much.

I didn't know that was a thing. We caught it on Christmas Eve, before we heard the term "Delta." As it happens, they live in Minnesota.

Got notified I've been exposed at work.  Again. 

Would have been masked plus vaccinated. 

There's been so much smoke in the air that I probably won't notice any of the mild symptoms if I do contract it...

Well, it gets lots of Google hits because Minnesota is experiencing a Delta surge and when they spike we follow.

Normally, I can smell a skunk 20 seconds or so before everyone else. A couple of weeks ago the other 3 people in the car could smell a skunk, and I couldn't smell it at all. We were in a parking lot at the time.

We're going to get Pfizer boosters and flu shots in a couple of weeks.
