More crazy people - recent ranked SMITE game.

A few years ago I posted an meltdown of a dude on Eve Online. MMOs may have salt, but MOBAs are so salty even Morton can not match it.

Unlike Eve, I can not copy paste logs, so I will give you the highlights of a PM session after the game. I have removed the profanity so as not to catch the wrath of the language filter or BU's Indiana Jones hat.

Wait - what is this wrath you speak of, iamfatjesus?  The wrath only happens if something gets past our crap swear filter and you don't clean up your own mess.  -I hate when that happens, even if I don't bother to speak up.

The dude had been going off since the pregame lobby. maybe he was beaten too much as a child.

You see, ranked SMITE has a draft system for choosing gods. He wanted to play MID, the middle lane which is usually reserved for mages but someone before him picked it. He ended up with the ADC position, reserved for a hunter and goes to a lane with me who usually plays SUPPORT. I do not blame him, I am horrible at ADC. But I suffer through it if I have to. Does not come up a lot because ADC is the most popular role.

He was already talking crud even as we are going out the gate. I think dude spent more time typing about other people's play rather than play himself. Typing that got more abusive and intense as the kills for the other team racked up and our objectives fell one by one.

We got creamed. Yes, I got out of position, but the opposing JUNGLE guy was really good and jumped us and there was little I could do. Hats off.

It got worse and worse and everything was my fault and I could do nothing right. Not saying my play was stellar, but no one else was doing anything to stop the unstoppable monster coming out from the jungle and two shotting us.

I did not hang around for the after chat as I was demoralized and tired of listening to arsewipes. I also was tired of the game, since I had lost two straight and had to deal with his arse both of those and needed to do laundry or something useful. I even took a demotion from Bronze 3 to Bronze 4 for that string of losses.

He went out of the way to PM me though to remind me of my worthlessness, so I entertained him for a bit.

After all, maybe he thought if all the "bads" would kill themselves so all he had to play with would be people he could win all the time with eventually.

I feel you on that.

I remember Defense of the Ancients back in the B-net days for Warcraft 3. Always was a putrid little community back then. But, come to think of it, the larger WC3 bnet community weren't much better. I remember getting into a WC3 clan back in the day that tried to go "hardcore" and demote your rank in clan or kick you if you did not win 75 percent of your games. Ironically, when the kid set up the clan, he begged people to join by offering instant officer spots to anyone that joined before pulling that stunt, hacking people off.

I like Smite though because it plays sort of like World of Warcraft battlegrounds. It flows as smooth as a WoW BG without the tab targeting, everyone starts out equal (you have no advantage  like in WoW where you could have grinded up gear), and there's quite a lot to it.

It's a really, really fun game. I just wish the player base was not douches sometimes and I did not have to use the mute and block button so much.

Other than that, it's probably one of the games that will always be on my hard drive because I am NOT going to have to buy expensive expansions and 15 USD a month just for battlegrounds for World of Warcraft.

That's the thing though. It is kind of damning of human nature.

I have philosophized about it somewhat.

Humans have a need to be awesome and separate themselves from what they perceive as the non awesome. Now, there is the concept of morality. That is, not being an arsehole. But that morality is irrelevant when it comes to results. You can be the biggest arse but if you are rich it does not matter. Short of physically killing people and being caught or becoming ill, nothing can stop you. Your wealth depends on not being an arse, you just hire someone for that and fire them if they balk. After all, for enough sucess, people will tolerate arses. That is the reason why the top raid guilds in MMOs always had a high concentration of sociopathic arses.
 
 In the real world there are actual winners and losers. People who have things set up well do not want "losers" on their team or even near them. They separate themselves from the scrubs of real life through high rents, achievements requirements like college degrees or positions, certain positions in society that are invitation only,etc. If you make a mistake or inconvenience someone, you suffer. If you lose, you get crapped on. There are work environments where if someone makes a complaint, that employee is fired no questions asked. You see this in game as well as real life.

But, this is totally sick and not good for society.

It's the reason you have people take guns and shoot up places. After all, if you have no talent nor resources or resourcefulness, the easiest way to get that is shove a gun in someone's face. Your significance goes from 0 to 10 instantly.

It's the reason you get people like Donald [Sleezebag]. They idolize him because he can say anything and get away with it because he is rich. Actions that would get an average joe ostracized and punished. After all, they are awesome and just temporarily embarrassed on their quest to being [Sleezebag]-like. If it was not for those scrubs on welfare, food stamps, etc.... like that makes a difference in one's personal situation.

Now, I am not sure the solution and you go down a deep rabbit hole if you try to enforce people treating people better. There are also people that need to be called out, and sometimes there just is not a nice way to do this.

But, I can ignore these people (just like I do in real life), try to be cool myself, and eventually find cool people I gel with. Just like real life. That, and hope that those who are toxic eventually learn social skills.

First, to sign up for forums they have to go to another website OTHER than the forums.

They have to fill out an application that would make the likes of Taleo and Brassring HR software blush. This includes:
- Steam name
- Real name
- facebook
- Twitch/ Youtube
- Full list of ALL Forum history and disclosure of ALL screen names used.
- List of ALL clans/guilds EVER in ALL games a member of along with dates, reason left, position, in game name, how much cock you suck, etc. From your first console to recent.
- Verified list of GotM victories. MUST BE DEITY LEVEL PLAY to play! GET GUD, SON
- Skype interview with the appointed TryHard.
- non doctored screenshot of an Alpha Centauri victory on deity with EVERY victory condition.
- Microphone installed and Discord/teamspeak/ventrilo.
- i7 processor or greater with fibre optic internet. Yeah, SMAX can play on an old P2 in the attic, but we can't have scrubs with Wally World specials crapping up the place.
- 5 paragraph essay on why you own face and how your ownage can help US own.
- MUST be a Miriam or Cha Dawn player. The clan leader BU gets Deidre, so that position is taken. We are full on Zach as well. Alien players are auto rejected as they are EZ mode n00b scums. AWAY!!!
- Cell number so we can text you to get online at 2 AM for MANDATORY PRACTICES.


If accepted..
- You play whenever we snap our fingers.
- You change your gamer name to include the  xxxxAC2xxxx tag. (four x's for 1337 and being pr0)
- You can get in waiting list in case The Grrrrrrl, the Mods, or the Owner, or the Owner's Buddies do not show up. Then you can actually play but if you make one mistake, boot.



You can bypass this if:

Yo, I totally DO reserve Deirdre for myself, seriously, you got that right - if I'm not playing as a custom faction, I play Gaian.

-And I knew z4ckdabeast, since become just Zack, pretty well, and all the WPC vets who where there at the time -before yours; '09- remember it well, and will back me up that a little of that kid (and his moods) goes a long way - too long. -Hope he never sees that, but he's still mad at me for getting (briefly) (okay, more than once, because it kept happening or I wouldn't have flipped in the first place, but I don't tend to stay mad) mad at him for being a consistently bad friend in a pinch, and I just don't care enough to zip it.

Sounds horrid since you are stuck with that player for hours in a 4x (months or a year if PBEM). At least a MOBA it's at most an hour. Most of the time, like 20 minutes. Then, it is rare to ever see that gamertag again.

Maybe that is what keeps folks in (some) MMOs and 4xs somewhat civil. If you are a [feminine washing], there are consequences. And, you WILL see them again.

Actually, we trashed the newborn WPC's OT spamming together along with eastsidebagle and Metaliturtle - and I'd put up actual money -I'm a practicing miser- to get that band back together and wreck up this place for one otherwise slow weekend; it was. the. MOST. fun. I've EVER had online, and I do watch my share of teh pr0n.
