Is there a save draft feature?
« on: June 29, 2017, 06:50:52 PM »
If so, I need directions/instructions. If not, it could be a handy thing for threads and posts. Sure, in theory, I could do it in notepad/word/whatever but that would also mean that I need to save it, and remember where I saved it, and it'd be less time spent here on AC2. Whereas if it were a feature and I could access it through the profile page, I could pop in and out and work on the post until it was ready for posting.

You gotta email me or something or I don't see these :)

Lazarus: Form Recovery used to be the gold standard for this: a firefox addon that saved all of your inputs into forms. Unfortunately, it needs to be rewritten for the latest versions of Firefox.

If you are on chrome, you could try their chrome addon of the same name. Or (on most good browsers) any of the options mentioned here: https://www.reddit.com/r/firefox/comments/5w9yxc/best_replacement_for_lazarus_form_recovery_addon/

These addons have saved me tens of thousands of characters of rewriting.

If they don't suit your use case, let me know.

Those would work too. I was just wondering if it'd be an option or other easy thing to implement for this forum software, as it is (or seems to be) at the other forum I visit (uses MyBB, apparently). Easier than plugins for the lazy (me) or less technologically confident (I'm not sure there's anyone here like that). Thanks for the link.

It's just that hacking non-standard functions into the forum software is an awful headache, I'm told, come time for an upgrade/move/tech troubleshooting.  -And if our tech guys had time for anything but broke-forum emergencies, well, I decided to move hosting 3 years ago and it hasn't happened...

It's unfortunate, but true.

I'm pretty sure non-standard and software should never be mixed.

Learn to overcome the crass demands of flesh and bone, for they warp the matrix through which we perceive the world. Extend your awareness outward, beyond the self of body, to embrace the self of group and the self of humanity. The goals of the group and the greater race are transcendent, and to embrace them is to achieve enlightenment.
