Darn this filter... it edited out the name of an actual landmark anarchist sex book that is widely read in some geek quarters.

I did try later Heinlein a long time ago - there's very little actual sex, just talking about it constantly, all PREverted.

Well, I could do without the incest parts or the "old enough to bleed, old enough to breed" parts that the Luna ladies did. Or some of the implied homophobia. But, the open marriage deal was a big draw for a lot of people. I have actually been, and am still in such arrangements.

Perverted? Not sure. Should my fiancee slash my nads because I have a plaything on the side? Or have coffee and a Guinness with her and talk smack about my drunken geekiness. Or I can't kick my gf's bf's ass in Halo? I have to kick his arse literally? Nonsense. The man was ahead of his time.

You want Stranger in a Strange Land or The Moon is a Harsh Mistress, then.  Time Enough for Love and later are proof that an editor with the power to say no is a good thing.

True that. Time Enough for Love is okay. Sunset, though.......

Friday is the only one in the bunch without an appalling volume incest talk, I believe - and it opens with the offensively casual rape scene.  The Cat Who Walked through Walls, was like the rat sorbet -w/ less rat- and was just flailing around in search of a plot.  To Sail Beyond the Sunset was fun, if in desperate need of cutting/tightening for length.  -So the first and last of his late -senile- period worked out the best, IMAO.
