So I've got this wedding speech and its part goes like this:

"Life with Kasia is very much like a being on a roller coaster, we'd have our ups with holidays, days out and quiet nights in. We'd have our downs with arguments and dinner in the bin, but no matter how high we would have to climb, or how low we would have to fall - we would always hold hands and never let go."

What do you lads and lasses think this 'dinner in the bin' means? Is she really such a b... that she throws out his food in the heat of an argument? That seems a bit excessive. ;) Other than that, I can't seem to find any related idiom.

I've got like two hours to give it back so I'd be grateful for quick reply.

Or it was burned, or they were eating in jail together. -Those ups and downs mentioned.

It looks like a desire to rhyme with 'in' at the end of the previous sentence.  I don't think it will affect the overall passage much.

Naw - you never know what'll make for good conversation and maybe someone awake will have better suggestions.

'Bin' is more England/Commonwealth English, BTW - 'Mercians might not know it means trash can.

Is it ok if I ask a question like that every now and then? Sometimes I could use some help from native speakers and this board comes to my mind, but usually I manage to find a solution.

Now that I think about it, I could use some grammar hints and tips in certain less-than-obvious situations.

Until quite recently, spider silk had the highest tensile strength of any substance known to man, and the name silksteel pays homage to the arachnid for good reason.
