gift testing in pictures

Here you see what I see when I try to gift something, BUncle.

I click on 'sent a gift', select the beer, and then all I get is this test message in the upper left corner.

I do not understand why this is happening.  I wonder if it's a re-gifting effect; I bought a Beer with my DL busted to plain member, no problem, and gifted it to Green1, no problem.  It's in his inventory now.  Yours was in your inventory when I checked.

Hmm. I can't imagine how it could be your Librarian PC rank.  I guess I'll send Uno a beer and have him gift it to you and see what happens.

I see Uno was able to gift you the beer, Geo, so that tends to eliminate re-gifting as the problem.  Sumpin's wrong with YOU, fellah.

Clarify something for me - I thought at first you were unable to even buy a beer, but I take it that was never the problem?  The error message you screnshotted looked like it was something to do with the Test Item in the Shop, and I deleted that as part of a cleanup yesterday to get all the useful items on the same page.  I wonder if the deletion will affect anything.

(I bet it would be minimally difficult to create a flower for similar purpose for when you now the recipient doesn't drink.  Beer is no different than Rock -it does nothing- in that it's only good for giving away...)

Well, I received the beer from UnO just fine. But the moment I try to use the item, I have this test message again.
It seems I can put it up for trade though. At least the initial screen for that comes up.

I'll just stop trying then. It's not that important to me.

Same as before. I get the "unusable" screen when I try to use the rock. Even as a chic geek lady.
