I really need to save up the money to get more alganate to make a whole bust lifecast...not my quick and dirty 'nearlifecast' methods.

Though...I am getting pretty damn good at my quick and dirty methods...

It's certainly something to build on - often, the details were gonna get covered up anyway...

Yeah, the almost creepy level of details alganate can do aren't needed, but I still have the problem that I can't do it to myself.  The alganate is actually easier from a certain point of view, and hEt knows how to do it.

The first casting try, a ridiculously thin section of the face, was both too long forehead-to-chin, and way too fragile - it doesn't stand out in the photos, but this broke in two getting it out of the mold.

I regret not getting a direct overhead shot that shows how wrong the shape was for my needs, but you can see it from behind in the casting pic:

...So I cast it again, a bit thicker, and started carving...

Around this time, I began thinking this looked a little like a doughboy helmet from a mystical WWI...

Kinda thinking with a few alterations it would make a decent base for a stage play lion...
