Shortly after I last posted about it, Buster told me she was working on doing a leather plague doctor herself - as if she'd never asked me to make one...

I finally got her to email me pics of the result a half hour ago...

A little side-project while I'm at that stage, just to have a backup of the Captain.  None of these bases made of this and that are going to last forever; the latex topping turns dark brown and gets fragile after about ten years...

Needs a little refining work - but the bubbles will fill in just fine with a little plaster applied with a paintbrush, and I can carve some improvements and sand it smoother than the original pretty easily...

I've wanted a plague doctor mask ever since COVID hit.  Not badly enough to pay Amazon twenty bucks plus shipping, just badly enough to dream about showing up for lab in one.  Buster's looks nice.

If you were into creating helmet masks, I'd even say moon sickle on the one side, with sunrays on the other.
