The optical effect I always get when I shoot the inside of a mask straight on strikes me funny - this looks like it's the outside in the center, and inside around the edges.  Strange - and does it every time.



Anyway, supper set me back a little, but here it is poured and drying...



I guess I'll paint another layer on the Crone, and then I'm waiting for the other two things to dry until tomorrow.  I can get another layer on Crone about bedtime, but otherwise bored.

So most of y'all have talent, taste, and/or a history of helpful suggestions...













-Have I got this roughed, so smooth and attend to symmetry and the like - or do I widen the base of the horns (and/or move them lower and out more in line with the brows) and make the chin even longer?

I was sorta going for a more triangular face, but then this more shape face looks like he'd beat you to death with his bare hands before he ate you, and I can will get the bottom more tapered in the trimming...  Thoughts?

Interesting. I normally think of devil horns being more upwards pointing.
What I find fascinating about this face is that it is very triangular in the last photo, and square in the others. I guess I've always been struck by faces that change appearance with the angle you view them. So, in profile you have 5 forward protrusions- 2 horns, 2 cheekbones and a chin. Sort of like  a pentagram. Seems devilish to me, the more I think about it.

This feels VERY retro-halloween to me.  70's, maybe early 80s.  I know I've seen that devil's cheekbones before.

Took it upstairs to show Momma on my way to sunset cat feeding, and left it with her for input when I came back in 15 minutes.  She thinks attending to symmetry and bulking out the base of the horns/width of the  brow will do it.  She likes the horns pointing forward.

The cheekbones are similar to both the Crone and the college Devil in the OP.

For comparison, a quick shooping of roughly how I'd normally trim the bottom of the face, with some widening of the horn bases as Momma suggested.

Okydoke; I believe I got the symmetry of the cheeks much improved, and the widening of the horns bases as envisioned.









Taking photos and looking at them certainly helps me spot bits that need something...  Need to fill in the line between the chin and the peeks of the cheeks somewhat - the other side's like that, too.  I was thinking I would wrap up for the night, anyway; the fresh-worked sculpey's too soft to smooth smoothly right now, and will firm up a bit by the time I'm up to arting.

I made the undershell extra long past the end of the Mylochka base.  When the extra is removed, that will improve the overall shape of the Devil face, as well...


Noting that sculpey and latex supplies are running low, I'll need to do a craft store run soon.  I haven't shown Mylochka anything I'm working on lately, yet; one hopes she will take an interest...

50's devil costume, forward horns.  I know there's a much more triangular version with the cheeks and no goofy ears.

Don't get me wrong, I'm mentioning this as a GOOD thing.  I'd consider leaning even heavier into it, with a big grin, similar to this pseudo vintage thing.  Goatee, pencil stash.
