what ye estimate burn time to be on that?

Oh, an hour or two.  I think the Massive Head Wound Kens are the only candles I've made that I actually burned, so I'm wildly guessing.  The Kens were just casts of actual Ken heads, smaller than this, and I think they all lasted over an hour.

...Or for that matter, I could just do a plaster casting, make some fixes, and mail you that - you make your own mold on it...

This is what I was able to do so far for a laughing Buddha with my bare hands in bed last night by the reading lamp.

I didn't get all that much sleep, but it probably would have been worse if the sculpey hadn't needed some firming up time before I did more detailing w/tools.  It's most of the way there, needing big-lobed ears, toes, more of the hands, and attention to the robe...  I think bulk out the legs, and the bottom in general, a bit more, too...

Here's something that had dropped out of my plans, but popped back up yesterday.

Back in December, the last new thing I was working on before I ran out of initiative was a Barbie bust - seen here in the periphery of a photo of the first Jebus candle.


Well, I came across a resin casting I did off the very same doll nigh on 20 years ago:

Resin is a girldog to work with, as was getting the head through the neckhole of the mold, which was eventually ruined.  -But this was a much better cast than the flash pic indicates, and more translucent.

So, the idea late last year was to do the same as before -make a mold over Barbie with an unbaked Sculpey hairdo- only with much longer hair eliminating the neck bottleneck.  -But man, her head kept moving, and it wasn't working out.

So when I looked at the resin bust, it hit me that I could modify the 60s/mawmaw 'do into a longer Doris Day sort of thing, and it should be easier than doing it on the actual jointed doll...


On these two new molds I've commenced in the last couple days, I've included a bit of wire on top, which should allow me to eliminate a candle-making step, and clamp a wick in place for the initial pour.  Easy enough to work around for non-candle castings...

Looks like a bikers jacket, somehow.  I think the skull might need to sit in back at the sto'.  The Olmec head is crying out for a casting in Mexican red, green and yellow.

It's just a good thing I don't know of a feasible way to pour the wax in a Confederate pattern...
