There was a sort of lead up to it in a few episodes, but but the panout was sort of lame.  Still, overall a good episode.

Another thing that had a good thing was stuff about the Slipstream Drive.  They had a major 2-parter with that, but afterwards, never mentioned again.

Seems like Axanar is still being worked on, although, in a much reduced form

Recent Update

As well as the older 'Prelude to Axanar'

So, let's see what comes out from this renewed effort.

Renewed effort, my butt.  That had become a scam before they were sued.

Still not sure, where to place Star Trek Deep Space Nine. Definitely, I cannot say which series was no. 1. Deep Space Nine is, however, very interesting and nice to watch.

Sorry...

I've never been able to watch all seasons of DS9. Must have shoved my TV outdoors some time after season 2 or 3.

I think the seasons towards the end of series were better. It is something about getting accustomed with characters, getting involved, also, there is a starship finally: "Defiance." And we can see some travelling around Galaxy. And wanting to see where characters' story arcs go.
The DS9 crew was also quite interesting, and I am not sure if more than that of ST Voyager.
The Dominion, Cardassians, the whole politics between all superpowers were interesting sufficiently. I remember, when they announced season 1 of DS9. I was expecting something boring compared to TNG - series centered on just one spacestation compared to travelling spaceship "Enterprise" would be like that. But it was not.

Not really a Trekkie, personally, but I just learned that CBS is producing a new series with Patrick Stewart as Picard.  Don't know if that's news to you.  Any hopes for that?

I'm hoping they finally address why a Frenchman has an English accent.

I found about it last year, when watching on youtube the recording of Patrick Stewart announcing it.

We have now ST Discovery, and there are parts of the show really "WTF is this" for me, but there are also parts of it, that I like.
Stewart said there: "He may not be a Captain any more" and "... a very different individual..."
But I give more chances, this new show will be interesting.

Sorry...

Or maybe advanced research by Federation anthropologists discovered that most primitive cultures find French accents comical.  Something like that.

They don't. They speak Franklish. Its just the translation nanoids letting you believe you hear 20th century English. :P

Caught up some Orville season 2 the last couple days.

Episode 2:

Ugh...not holodeck [poop]...But, that's one impressive practical effects suit for the porn distributor!  I mean, yeah its a foam latex suit, and only one of the 4 arms work because the actor's other arm is working the head, but it's really cool to see none the less.  Much preferred to the funny forehead/ears stuff.

Episode 3:

Whoa, interesting concept I don't think Trek ever really dealt with!  Muscle/bone density loss due to space travel.  Really nice to see that addressed, and it fit.  Of course they kind of throw that out the window/get lazy at the climax, but well done.  Mix in good acting from Trek alum.

Episode 4:

Oh, this feels like something out of DS9.  Nicely done, if cookie cutter.

Episode 5:

Mixed feelings.

Me too!!!!

I just found this trailer analysis by Trek Central. Looks like they going with post apocalypse (the controversial supernova event) Romulan's experimenting with Borg technology presumably to try and regain some lost power. Gotta love the lab sign saying 5,843 days without assimilation lol! Looks like they have control of a cube too. Considering Romulan's and Borg were my favourite villains from TNG this pleases me greatly.
