Well, that was a clearly-marked break.  Was glad somebody got it together shortly after I resumed, and it got watchable again.

I still think McKennah is a poorly-conceived character played mostly poorly, but there's no denying that Michelle Sprecht has an arresting presence anyway; you can't look away while she's hamming it up.

Why is this still going on?  They had it wrapped five minutes ago.  They were doing so well with pacing, weak Spock has gotten a lot less weak over the run of Continues, I swear I never noticed the gather/pleat seams in the front of the ladies' uniforms in the original, but they look fabu - but Chianna doesn't have a lot of time for her speech to turn awesome and still leave them several minutes for credits...

WELL.

I hated the civil war reenactor episode, so this was a relief.  They're all flawed, and the way the camera would linger on Gigi Edgely was somehow off - at least, I've seen her do acting that didn't seem --- wrong, somehow, playing a skinny gray space junkie, but a pretty solid episode that would have won me over a lot better if I hadn't come to that middle part with everyone out of control on the wrong night to enjoy it.

I have to wonder; is Vic Mignogna just not able to pitch his voice an octave lower?  Kirk's voice went that high, but didn't stay up there...

And "These ah the voyages of the stahship Entahprise"  -why have I nevah hud this Boston Kirk before and how did that reading get past everyone and make it into the episode?

My understanding is that STC will be allowed to finish anything currently in production, but after that they have to figure out what to do. Another episode is currently in post-production and expected to be released in September.

Any developments in the Trek world lately besides them -in a truly lame move- making abomination Sulu a 'mo (which isn't ST and doesn't count)?...

Sorry, I haven't spent a lot of time at TrekBBS lately. I need to post the Iron Pen results, and this particular round of NaNoWriMo is turning out to be much more challenging than last time.

Does it count as news that there's a Star Trek convention going on in Vulcan, Alberta this weekend?

I hadn't known about this, and it's too far away to just make a spontaneous decision to go. This town decided to cash in on its name way back when I was actively attending two conventions per year, and I didn't go to this one because three would be completely beyond my budget.

WELL - that did not suck.  I sat all the way through it without pausing, and I think it was on the bland side, not a great idea for a Star Trek story, and could have been even better in execution - but their Chekov is full of win and charisma, in the fate of the Hood they're apparently setting up a story arc for the next four episodes, and I definitely wasn't bored or put off, watching.  -I found the last couple episodes weaker, and I'll give it a thumbs-up. 
 
-It was still the "stahship Entahprise" in the opening though...
