Made all the way past the wedding scene and into the plot commencing with no worse than finding the Romulan Senate very poorly thought-out - and regret that they couldn't work in Wesley Crusher's lines for his last chance ever.  (A scene was shot, and I've seen it somewhere - they coulda shoulda worked in the 20 seconds)...

Okay, the intro of the excision vehicle almost convinces me this is even worse than I'd heard all by itself.

-You'd think that with the whiteface they gave Data for the movies, they could do something to hide the wrinkles - it's not like it would be wrong for him to look like a doll.  Just calk that [poop] over...

They could should have rigged some bag of sand effect with the torso - it was too stiff for such a sophisticated component, and Worf picked it up like it was three pounds of styrofoam, which it surely was, mostly.  Fifty pounds of sand around the frame with the rest of the stuffing, and it would flex slightly in the middle and make Michael Dorn grunt slightly hefting it.  This is FX 101 stuff, folks, and some professionals with a feature film budget failed.  -All the exposed parts laying there active is beyond lame, too.

Kirk would have stopped those dunebuggies chasing with a mini phaser and some suddenly-appearing pits in the ground, but Worf had to have an underpowered turret gun.  Then there's the way they got back on the shuttle, because the whole sequence wasn't already retarded-Michael-Bey enough.

FIRED.  YOU'RE ALL FIRED.


...I'm not going to girldog about why Dr. Soong would have built an android with an OLD-looking head until they have a chance to handwave that when it's assembled...

Pretty sure they're not going to explain why retarded Data has wrinkled arms, so I now officially complain.

Does anyone recall much about Janeway's service record?  I'm pretty sure Picard is way senior to her, and I'd argue the internal evidence of her evolving command personality -ugh- indicated she was a pretty green captain at the beginning of Voyager if nothing established later contradicted.


P.S.  Everything about retarded Data sucks.

I have to say it; one does not simply waltz into orbit around Romulus.

One is stopped and harassed under any circumstances, as long as any Romulans are alive, every few light hours inside the border - and that's when one has been invited.

This movie has the balls to think it's clever.

Because people know they're in the landing party away team without being told.  -Leaving no one in command.  -While John Luke meets a clone who doesn't look like him at any age, sound like him, or act like him.  In short, no reason not to beat it to death in the mines years ago instead of colluding with it to put it in charge.

But one good thing - haven't seen nor heard BeefWhore in the last 12 minutes of this sad mess.

Picard has decades' worth of seniority on Janeway. But the novels and much of the fanfic spin it that she was kicked upstairs to the admiralty because she basically went rogue (by 24th century standards). And remember that Picard was offered a promotion and refused.

She brought back a ship crammed with alien, Borg, and future technology. She violated the temporal laws several times. She nearly killed Starfleet officers because she was psychologically out of it (it's Equinox crew I'm thinking of here). Starfleet would have been displeased that she didn't keep the Maquis in the brig the entire time. And so on.

Yet they couldn't risk allowing her to resign with all that knowledge in her head. So they gave her a "promotion" so they could take advantage of her knowledge but minimize the risks of any more rogue actions.

It totally does not have John Luke's eyes.  I'm looking at them, and they're a different shape and size, differently spaced.  A quarter point for the handwave attempt, but they shouldn't have mentioned the eyes.  The parts with Shinzon in them think they're clever when they're really, really not.
