Don't know if it was hauling the pumpkins or (more likely) hauling away the vines, but I've sure done something not so nice to my knee.  Better be clearing itself up before I have to walk around the mouse all next week. 

The boss checked, and it's sounding unlikely they'll have an esmerelda costume...ah well, will be fun to make one.

It's not really painful, it just feels like it needs to pop, but if I'm up walking around for a while, my thigh goes to sleep.

I wouldn't know.  I don't get out much, but I've seen nice-looking ones on sale for a month already, and didn't look at prices, and have no idea of past prices.  Sorry to be unhelpful.

Locally, the 3 stands I've seen now all have an abundance of what would be "specialty" pumpkins and a relative derth of jack o lantern type.  Saw one at lunch time in a parking lot that had a cute setup of a (tiny) patch on haybales, a little "haunted" maze (CLEARLY geared towards 2-5 year old type), and a petting zoo.  I found it a rather strange combination at first, but it's kinda clever on second thought.  Tickets to get in and free pumpkin on the way out. 

Didn't see how much, but doubt it's worth it...

Okay, I was in the grocery store this afternoon, and they had some pretty big, pretty good-looking real pumpkins for sale, $6 apiece; most of them a nice orange and mostly reasonably unflawed.  -Also, some warty, gourdy-looking ones at the same rate, some orange, some green, some yellow, and some combinations thereof.  Naturally, I took a good look when I saw them, after our talk.
