7 custom faction for Smacx

I've started to have a look at the Cartel .txt-file. It looks good - I only corrected a few minor typos/grammatical flaws. I especially like that you have bothered putting some thought into the Treaty and Trust parts. They can be used to tell a lot about a fac leader's personality and too many of the custom facs I've looked at have had standard phrases instead of something original. Good work!

When you decide on a name I can add it to the proof read .txt-file and upload it. That way it will be finished, proof read and ready to go!

I have one question, though. Your fac leader quote is very similar to that of Svensgaard. Is that good? I think you could easily come up with something more original, perhaps something about the adventurous spirit of the faction, like in the Treaty and Truce quotes. We're all willing to help you with ideas on this, of course.

With regards to names, maybe something with warlords could be good? The gangs of Somalia (and Afghanistan of the 80's) are sometimes referred to as warlords, I think. Or does it sound too medieval? What do the native English speakers think?

I'll be gone until Sunday or so, but helping with the Cartel is at the top of my to do-list.

Warlords as part of a faction name sounds fine.  Something like the Gypsy Warlords?

How about the Free Company?  The free companies were an Italian phenomenon you've surely heard of - bands of mercenary knights?  The leader might be called "Captain" instead of "King".

FREE COMPANY also knowed as mercenarie company ... excellent and conviced idea!!! nothing with gypsies version idea, but a lot more interesting and better to resume what we looking for

no Rymdolov, consider that txt just like a track, it must several changed (also in function of the last connotation). If you wnat named cities, build new dialogue, else else else DO IT!!!

exactly it's what that 's going out : FREE COMPANY (in italiano 'compagia di ventura' if can be useful to watch on google for logo or else images) where the leader is the WARLORD

abolished the kingdom of gypsies that they don't like to BU, i'm thinking, with what i thinked last night (there's an italian proverb that says: 'the night give suggestion'), a new idea of that project. We can inspire the new factions like a sort of split of Spartan Federation. Each faction detained a primacy:
- Free Company - capture enemy ability (also with worms), so ability 26 if i remember correctly and +1 planet. correct me if i wrong
-  something with NAVY - acquatic faction
- something with air - air power faction (but not bonus to start or this faction have immediatly an armed force invincible agist each others)
and then i thin something with LEGION, i like this term
5 factions with Union, and here we should attach something like JarlWolf say conglomerate
2 other factions will should be aliens in crossfire (civil war)
You like this general framework??

It sounds like good ideas - but like a different faction set.  You may want to think in terms of making new factions instead of always revising the same ones.  The old ones were good, too.

Okay; that makes sense.  I do think the revised ideas provide a better handle on what the factions are about, and Rym will like that part for his GotM idea.

for air faction do you like the 'Sons of Icarus' (i miss that faction maybe should have bonus also in air drop troops too, in short ... all concern the air but i think this you've already understand)

today ive remade the background behind the leader of 'federation armada' (ex) ... now is more cool. soon will watch on this thread. i've mainteined the pretty asian lady with her uniform.
i build also the admiral, with his backround, of NAVY, the acquatic faction.

there may be thousand of variants, today i'm thinking to a faction commanded by an officer of militar police of spartan federation internal security. it could be a state of police with high mind control of his followers. It could be a Judge the leader ...
now i download some pics useful to complete something i worked today. i've choised for air faction Pegaso as emblema of that fac, among other the idea of a winged horse comes from minor Asia so the pretty asian is guessed ... sons of Icarus as name have already slipped my mind, it occure a name more cool ....

I agree, it is a cool idea. It has historic precursors too, since it is not unheard of that the navy and the infantry (for example) take different sides in internal conflicts/revolutions.

That's a good idea. How about a faction built on the secret police, with a combination of combat and probe skills?
