A new window.

Do you think it is a good idea to enable this recently discovered window in a patch to the game? In other words, would you be interested at having this feature appear in the game? Attached below are screenshots of the locations that I currently know this feature would appear in.

Is the position of the new window fixed? It might be better to move it a bit left, so at least one of the center info displays is completely visible.

This window's size can be adjusted and it can be moved to anywhere on the interface.

Is this a better intial size for the window?

I found the previous size more readable. As long as the bioscan window and the info display on the right are completely visible, I'm a happy camper. :)

I can make it go back to the original size. The area in which I am currently having issues with is how to make the other labels that are coded for appear in the correct locations.

Looks cool (right where it was, in the middle), I vote yes.

;b; Looks good in the middle, as big as it needs to be without covering the OK bar-button.

Here is a potential option. Although I know most respondents have liked the window in its intial position. with this option you can move the window around the whole screen so long as you do not drop it on top of the diplomatic window. Also, you can move the diplomatic window regardless of any changes I have made.

That kinda sounds like work. Moving the window after it pops up I mean. ;)

As far as I know it is either you have it in a location within the interface but you can not stretch the map outside the interface or you have the window box appear outside the interface and you can move/stretch it anywhere on the screen. So in other words, you have either greater flexibility or you do less moving with more limited flexibility as to where it can go. That is why I posted the screenshot.

The 'interface' being the initial spot where the map window pops up? Or do you mean by 'interface' the lower quarter of the game screen, where the bioscan, info displays,... are?

When I am talking about the interface I mean where the bioscan and info displays are.

Here is a screenshot of another map window I found unused in the code. The method I currently use to get it open is through the diplomacy screen. However, I am uncertain if that was the method they had originally intended to use for opening this particular window. Presently, the only way I know how to make the map appear is by changing jmp 00470F70 at address 0048BC5A to jmp 00470FA0. This window is expandable, collapsable, retractable and is able to be moved anywhere on the screen.

Through the diplomacy screen you say? Does that mean you could for instance let it pop up during peace negotiations or base switch negotiations so the player could move in this window to the area under negotiation and perhaps even take a peek in the base screen if he happens to have active infiltration with this faction?
