Thats fine, we can start it next week. Just so i know what you were expecting timewise  :)
I was worried i was being too pushy, being ''more Miriam than Miriam'' after all.  :P

Don't worry about that, I love me some in-game contact. :) We can try to deal with this conflict as quickly as possible and then start a longer game, maybe even on huge. I avoid larger maps in PBEM because people tend to drop out before you have a chance to hug them; in IP it seems to be not that a big deal and we can think later about some epic game for two full evenings. :)

I did a tiny bit of work on the map i proposed for our 1v1 PBEM, so the starting positions look about even. Or atleast so im fine with being on either side, i didnt spend too much time calculating resource totals and such  :) I didnt realize large was such a small map setting btw, the start positions are much closer than i imagined.

AI:I added AI start position markers, i think we both like AIs.
Fungus:We could randomize the fungus on medium, but do i delete the fungal towers afterwords?
Pods:on or off?

Factions;i wouldnt mind playing a morgan. You have Aki and Deirdre sharing tier two with morgan so maybe you take one of those two? Also Sparta could be viable if pods are on.

Wait a minute, I thought this is a map for our next IP and we're going to ask somebody for PBEM! Oh well, now that you did some work on it, it will be a shame to waste it.

I suck at Deirdre... What do you do without FM?!  ;aaa

OK, let's find out.

We could definitely use it in IP;i guess i misunderstood that. I wouldnt mind a larger map for a PBEM game. Infact i messaged an old friend about CMNing our PBEM game, lets see if he is available and go from there...BTW i only spent 10-20 minutes on it, nothing to be worried about wasting timewise. Ive got a lot of time nowadays...

I mentioned 3 choices against morgan and i notice you picked the one that has mind worms  ;)

Ok, we can wait for the PBEM. As for IP, I need to check if my Gameranger works properly.

Choosing the Green Lady has nothing to do with mind worms, I'm afraid. :) It's been ages since the last time I played her, and recently I figured that playing factions less popular or rarely taken by can 1) improve your overall skills 2) be a cure to monotony. So this time I'm taking Gaia, but my real goal is to master the 3 Big Retards - Cha Dawn, Miriam and Ulrik. They're always available, people always poop their pants when these are in game... and then Zakharov wins. I'd like to change that. :)

I feel like Miriam can be very strong depending on when you can get CE and IA to start the tech ball rolling. Flubber once won a 4 player fast transcend with the Believers but i dont have much recollection of that, and no saves. (My email has been cleared prior to 2008 :( )

I am not actually sure i can still play IP though, until the 12th of next month. Im over the softcapped bandwidth limit imposed by my ISP so i am not sure if that will make more lag or not. For small downloads like the one attached to this post, it is instant but who knows what it will be like with the ingame connection. (I do have infinite data usage at night, so i can still get youtube\movies in HD  :) )

I made up the map into a scenario file. The gaians are on the leftmost starting spot and the morgans to the rightmost-this is easy to reverse if you like. We could also change the slots of the players, i know this makes tech selection issues but i dont remember the specifics.

On the second look, I'd remove the Manifold Nexus from the vicinity of either of us (now it's north to Morgan's). I think the farther, the better. :)

I noticed that you did not put us at maximum possible distance, i.e. diagonally; that was your purpose, right? We are far away, but not that far at the moment. Not that I mind, just mentioning it.

Indeed, you may want to use the attached tool to find a decent slot for Morgan. At many slots he suffers greatly and has to make 1-2 strays from IA. I don't remember how you change slots in a pre-made scenario? Was it by tinkering with alpha.ini?

Actually my idea when i saw the map was to put the players on opposite sides of a Mediterranean sea, ive been playing total war:rome recently and had carthage VS rome in mind.

You are right about the Nexus, ill put it down between the two AI on the bottom.

Changing slots, i will just delete the faction in the slot i want to use and reload morgan\gaia there and make the necessary changes for units\techs. I already did this twice as the aliens i had in initially kept removing their bases (!) and choosing to make the late entry event. Like i said i can rotate gaians and morgan, you can choose which spot you prefer as i made the scenario, as we discussed before. Or you can make two new starting spots if you like

The prevalence of anoxic environments rich in organic material, combined with the presence of nitrated compounds has led to an astonishing variety of underground organisms which live in the absence of oxygen and 'breathe' nitrate. Likewise, the scarcity of carbon in the environment has forced plants to economize on its use. Thus, all our efforts to return carbon to the biosphere will encourage the native life to proliferate. Conversely, the huge quantities of nitrate in the soil will be heaven to human farmers.
