Nice.  Brickwork and stuff, but no fancy in the post displays to mess with legibility.
I didn't get that far. ;)

I'm not sure what I intended to do for that part of it. Some of the title bars aren't readable enough so the font color needs to be changed to something that's not so dark against the darker woodgrain. As for the blue, I intended to change that to something else - it just doesn't "feel right" to me as it is.

On another note, I do have some Classic Doctor Who stuff in my graphics folders in Photobucket - roundels, for instance (even pink ones...  :D ).

Ah - I did wonder about the thematic appropriateness of the blue.

I can't save/upload right now.

Pretty sure I can delete the background pic, no problem.  (this is Black Ops?)

The header is there, just getting covered by the top menu.  I can MAYBE move the menu down, but it would be trial and error to get the right location, and since it's a fixed position, that would look ugly on some browsers/mobile.  Options MIGHT let you move the header down without fiddling.

I'd need to look find the file name for the offending icons.  And honestly, it would be easier to just copy them from the default and paste them into the appropriate folder, making sure to name them the same as the existing ones.

Right.

Those are for Black Ops.

Go back to Killing Time (rechristened The Chilling) and hit refresh if you don't see the difference. :danc:  I believe you said the red was a bit much.  -I still haven't tracked down the orange headers, and some other tweaking may well be needed, but I certainly like this better.

The changes in Dark Blue Eyes needed a cache refresh to show - if I can figure out the page width (that's only there when browsing inside a thread - works fine in the modify post and Reply pages, for instance, and in my profile and the forum view) problem, it's a winner, I think.

Yes, it's very pleasant now.

Okay.  The banner is fixed in Astrology.  THAT took a while to track down.

* Halloween I: it works, but navigation misses Icons and Quotes hurt the eyes.
+Halloween I (Kinda similar to the last, but weaker layout, background too dark for black text, and no pull-downs - life expectancy not great.)
This means the theme was on life support. Hopefully it will pass in peace  :(.
The current list has many themes for fall and a few for winter. The present options are extremely lacking in the summer and spring themes department. Besides default, I found the Thanksgiving theme the most appealing option.

I'm currently trying out Dark Blue Eyes.

My "Chic Geek Lady" cameo is gone. There's just an asterisk there now.  :-\

The only other issue is that while the blue background is a nice shade of ultramarine, it just seems... flat. Might there be a way to substitute a different background image that has much the same color, but isn't solid?

I probably can fix the background - a screeny pointing which part you want how would help.  I just uploaded the cameo.

...None of them are caught up on icon/images, necessarily -unless they got them from the default, which some do- so don't worry about that - I'll upload missing images to the ones we keep.

See the areas where I scribbled a bit of red? Those are the areas that seem flat because they're solid blue. If there could be some kind of patterned blue background or a subtle image in a palette similar to that shade of blue, it would make the actual areas where the posts and the posters' sidebars are really pop out.

That would involve substituting an image in place of a color.  I'm not nearly ready for that, yet.  I could probably find that color and make it either darker of bluer, depending on which you think would make the posts pop more...

You could probably do a color select and try hues for yourself, if your graphics program will do that (otherwise just select the side as a box one at a time)...

Dunno how it is with SMF, but with IF, instead of a color code, substitute in the link to an image. That's how I got the wood grain and brick backgrounds on the FF forum. In the normal default CSS, they're just colors.

Some civilian workers got in among the research patients today and became so hysterical I felt compelled to have them nerve stapled. The consequence, of course, will be another public relations nightmare, but I was severely shaken by the extent of their revulsion towards a project so vital to our survival.
