Right one last question: Is it possible to have multiple objects sort of overlayed on each other? (Like if you wanted to do something silly like put a hat on top of another hat, or move them inside each other.)

If you can do that... then I think I might have an idea as to how to solve this eyeband conundrum.

The answer is yes... sometimes.

"Conforming" models are created to adhere to the figure you place them on.  You can't layer those.  But plain props can be layered.

Hmm....

Idea:

Take the first Band you showed me, or this one:

(click to show/hide)

And then layer it/merge it with this one:

(click to show/hide)

And then make it a brown like this:

Or this
(click to show/hide)

(It doesn't have to emulate the texture, just the colour.)

Texturewise, you don't have to go into that much detail, just make it flat/without big ripples. If it helps you to have a target for texture...

Of course if you got a better way to do it, this is a suggestion from an old fart who knows scratch all about the program you are using. Hope it helps though!

Yeah... I think I can do that. If I can make one of those pictures into a seamless tile, I can use it directly as the texture.

Will get back to you on this one!

Okay, here's the two eyestraps merged together with a texture I made out of one of your pictures...

I have high hopes: Your work has been splendid thus far.

If the jacket goes awry, another suggestion is maybe take the first segment of the eye band and then put it on the edges of the shirt to make it look like it's folded, and colour it the same green as the rest of the shirt.

Oh, that's a very good idea!  Could definitely work if the RAF jacket will not cooperate...

Well, here's the RAF desert uniform converted.  This model does have morphs that allow me to use a more stocky build on the character and it does have rolled up sleeves, but the sleeves are too short and I'm not sure this character would tuck his shirt in like this.. What do you think?

Yeah... Vazheli isn't the type to tuck his shirt in, and the sleeves are rolled up too far it seems.

The green also seems a tad dark, because lets compare:

(click to show/hide)

As you can see, the Green is lighter, almost a tan tinge to it/olive drab.

Vazheli is a stern character, but he's also somewhat casual in his attire. He's a modest man that doesn't care dressing up fancy for things, and that's part of the appeal of him as a leader: he's down to earth and comes from a pretty humble, modest level to his followers. At times, he might wear a brown trenchcoat that's about the same hue as his band, and perhaps a commissar style cap or army cap with visor.

The old shirt might be better, still not sure though. This one could have variations/potential.
Also making the pants the same brown/similar to the eyepatch, his pants, at least in my envisioning of him, are brown instead of green. And he has these colours on his uniform/garb because it's a better blend for the environment of Chiron, browns and beiges.
Wouldn't be a camo pattern probably, just a brown.

So my humble suggestion is to change pant colour to a brown, then make the shirt lighter/more similar to the picture. Use the old shirt if need be and just use the first segment of the eye band to make the rolled up sleeves. Up to you on that one though in the end.

Okay.  Here's the old jacket with the added on cuffs.

Right: Now we just need to recolour it. If you need a colour/pattern to draw from/use:

(click to show/hide)

Note: This tan I think will work the best, but the others are there just for experimentation.

The pants should be a brown like this colour, with the boots being black.

Hope it helps.
