Chaos weapons incoming.

That copter base is also poetically named.

"The Rapture"

Except unlike the book of Revalations, the Believers are not going anywhere. It is the Antimind that is going to "disappear" as MOAR gas copters are heading that way...

Mhm, been a large amount of fighting. And on a side note, my AAR is heating up.

Yeah.. a lot. I think I have been at war whole game. But Miriam rolls like that. You should have seen what I did to poor Deidre one game. Quadruple whammy. I nuked her 3 times then global warming took 6 of her bases for a grand total of 9 bases. Too bad I lost New Jerusalem in the flood, too. Oops. Well, the Lord is forgiving. :D

I personally think your faction in your AAR can get a little Miriam in you. Do you know how horny Miriam gets when she sees a Morgan like faction next to her? It is not pretty. You got just that.

Some people have weird fetishes and might perceive that as beauty. I'm not one of them.

Mind Vazheli is not a traitorous man and he isn't a monster, but he's a very passionate man and that passion can also translate into bloodthirsty, vengeful reckoning. He's a man with a very strong temper and dedication to his cause. Which can make him terrifying. As I stated he's based off me quite a bit and once upon a time I was a very ruthless man. And while I lost that invigorated sense of violence the mentality has left its scars, so while the intention of this faction certainly wasn't first intended to be a way to release some of my demons, it partially became that and its a way to let my mind speak without saying much of a word on myself at all.

Which is a nice benefit I suppose, it lets some harboured pain out.

Edit: That and its damned fun to make the storyline.

Sounds like "role" play!

Remember. Alpha Centauri is a period piece. It is 1990s sci fi. As such, none of the events that we have now took place. Internet was around, but it was very expensive and more for business and universities and militarys. It was a pay service for the middle class. As such, information did not spread like it did now.

In this time in Miriam's United States, preachers like Jimmy swaggart, Oral Roberts, The Bakkers, etc became very influential and were on the few channels of cable. Books were burned and anything even slightly non-Christian was destroyed or censored. We almost REALLY went through that during that era if it was not for broadband internet! Brian Reynolds put Miriam in as a statement and a time capsule to the 1980s-90s! I actually saw book burnings.

it is also the reason for Lal's famous "beware those who would withhold information" speech.

Alpha Centauri is a powerful historical work if you think about it. I hope if they remake or whatever, they keep the 1990s vibe and keep it a period piece.

Or at least allude to it. My experience in the 90's was different to you folks: But I think it was just as monumental and terrifying.

In my country the rise of cut throat capitalists, oligarchs and crime skyrocketed and people were literally starving and the disparity was so out of control it was appalling. The only reason I survived and that my daughters did was because of my friends who lended their hand and dragged me out of a hole, because I did the literal thing for them years back 79-83.

People who were in the way of oligarchs, whether they be small businesses, policemen or old rivals were shot/killed by hired thugs.
The government was literally doing nothing to help out the massive amounts of people who needed healthcare and proper services, there was a lack of proper law enforcement. It was a Laissez Faire do nothing crap all nightmare. It was all the evidence I needed to affirm my suspicions of what the true face of Capitalism ever was and prove it was a monster.  The 80's to 90's was a dark age I think until the end of the 90's, things started to look up. There was an intellectual revolution in the United States, something AC is a relic of: And there was finally a resurgence of strong government leadership in my country. Sure, that leadership did not solve all the issues and it was not a return to a proper Socialist system to support the population (and I consider the Soviet Union to have died with the Brezhnev's they were the ones who shot it, Gorbachev dug its grave and Yeltsin finally killed it.) but its better then a government that did nothing. I am a firm believer that a government has no right to exist if it does not help manage a nation and support its people: If it does not do that then it is useless. And we can't allow corporates to take over as leadership because all they care about is profit, not the people under them and leaders are supposed to care for their followers.

Ironically, it was "Communist" principles that kept full fledged riots or stuff like the 1930s Great Depression here nowadays. During the 1990s, US was had a .com boom. I remember jobs were easy. You could be fired from one job and have 4 others lined up the next day. With jobs going globally to the lowest bidder internationally, not anymore.

There are no soup lines (unless you include homeless shelters). But there are these cards called Food Stamps and millions are on them. You use them at grocery stores and the government pays for a certain amount of storable food items. It can only be used for food.

If that is not Communist, I do not know what is. Neither is it "evil".

If a government isn't socialist, its not doing its job in my opinion. Sure, I can understand if people want private enterprise. But if a government isn't offering services to help its people and protect them from things a normal person can't possibly defend against alone then they are not doing it right. People can't defend themselves against armed soldiers or criminals constantly, or constantly slave away and then are forced to pay for accidents or conditions that make them ill/injured. You can't possibly and feasibly pay those costs while feeding and raising families, and skimp out on education or other things because of these costs. Its just holding people back, and anyone who thinks its a make or break society where its fine to have most people fail and the few to be rich are people who were privileged and never had to work like a slave. Sure, maybe they "earned" their way but it was most likely due to them having well funded education, stable backgrounds or they were willing to discard on morals and step over people to get on top.  Of course there is people who are bums and squander everything and become useless: But they'd be that way regardless of what society they are in.

There will be no "socialism" for Antimind. Nor Food Stamps....

This is the first day of it's last days.

Believer jets hit the former home of the "jailbait", Stephanie. Lazytown had already suffered at the hands of chemical copters. The jets make quicker work of the defenders.

Lawyer units move past Field of Blood, but Antimind air force presence is still in that area.

Lazytown is obliterated by chemical copters!

Too bad the annoying child star was not in there. I really wanted Chuft's faction around just so I could show them the power of Miriam.

The other base Stephanie used to have before it changed from subtle pedophilia land to fungus and tentacles has now been destroyed.

A colony chopper establishes Divinity Base which will be the air base for the final operations into Oblivion's former territory.

the Cyborg Factory!

A few minor skirmishes as we move forces to begin in earnest against former Oblivion Bases. Wages of Sin is the first former Oblivion base to taste the chemicals as it's population drops from 6 to 3!

You are orphans, earthdeirdre, your homeworld already buried so young among the aeons. Yet now you fill the skies where we watched a million sunsets with flame and contrails, paying no heed to the hard lessons the universe has tried to teach you. Are you a breath of life to invigorate a complacent world, you earthhumans, or an insidious cancer which must be excised?
