He, Melania, and Hope Hicks all have symptoms as well as confirmed positive tests. My concern at this point is that  the wrong lesson will be learned when the episode is over.

a) It's just the flu!

b) See, I told you hydroxychloroquine works!

c) Old people don't need to worry.

d) Masks make a difference.

I wonder how long it will take for the "Democrats' conspiracy to infect the President" starts to hit the news cycles....

My wife was looking at a list of the top 20 hotspots for new cases. About a third of them are here in WI. They are all college towns in red counties with the bars open. Last I looked, WI had 7 of the top 10 drinking towns nationally, with an 8th in easy reach.

Meanwhile, another hotspot on the list is Centre county/ State College PA (Penn State University) where my mom lives.  According to her the students are using their critical thinking skills to get tested at a clinic chain which reports their positives in their home towns, rather than in Centre county. This prevents or delays a threshold which would trigger a campus-wide dorm lockdown/ virtual classroom OR a send everybody home/ virtual classroom, which would suck all of the fun out of going to college.

Any plans to travel the next few months (as this is typically the time when ya'll are doing such)?

NO travel plans here.
So tell me again, where are we going, and why are we in a handbasket?

We've been doing cancellations and postponements, even when it costs us. We have hopes for next year.
Meanwhile, we only leave the house once or twice during the week, and don't like to be outnumbered by family dropping by.

I like what Disney is trying to do there, but your Governor DeVirus  continues to be "Amazing!" and "Unbelievable!"

The boss and I just got back from a super secret trip to the Pacific NW.  Actually safer there than Utah right now.  Everyone was pretty much just on board with the masks, even with most things open.  We still avoided the hell out of populations and stayed in/cooked at 'home'.

We've been getting a lot of late-night helicopter fly-overs for the last week or so. Sort of fits with news that the hospitals in Green Bay and Appleton have filled up with Covid patients and they are sending patients here. It's kind of sobering.

A bunch of co-workers have been reported as infected.
Now we'll have to wait and see if it spreads further among workers.
The only new measure management took I can see is that the floor managers do checks if workers wear their masks appropriately. And take note who doesn't.

My work is VERY dependent on how serious the individual area managers take it.  I'm presently sitting with finance and contracts (I actually report back east directly but have to sit somewhere).  Finance's manager was the first confirmed positive in our facility.  They entirely work from home now.  Contracts' manager is very much a masks do nothing type, but 2 of his employees are working from home as well, so it's me an 2, sometimes 3 others on the floor.  I'm distant enough to not worry, but up until about a week ago none of the others would wear masks at all, they've started to when leaving their cubicles.

Which only really leaves me with one [Sleezebag] idiot it's just a cold no big deal co-worker I regularly have to deal with that will be the one to expose me if I contract it from work.

Unfortunately this time of year has me in office more than I'd like . Hoping to finish this off quick and get me back to at least 50% from home.

The team managers (roughly 20-30 workers/team for planning purposes) do tend not to wear masks at their desk. They do in other areas of the plant though.

Things here are reaching nightmarish levels of infection rate. Last week a couple days with 3000 new cases. Especially the capital area is an infection zone, with the poorer suburbs in the top 3 of highest infected communities percentage-wise.

We have a population of 5.8 million, and are reporting about 3K new cases/day.
My wife checked with a friend who is a fire depart chief in northern WI. He confirmed that the worst cases are being sent down here by helicopter, others by ambulance. So that probably explains the surge in night helicopter traffic and sirens on the expressway.

Meanwhile the state legislature refuses to take any action to address this crisis.

Wow. My country's population is twice your state. With 5 times as much land area.
Stricter measures have been implemented again: at most 3 other people in your 'bubble' (essentially people you can meet unmasked outside your household), bars close at 11 PM. In the capital area all bars are closed even.

Utah's cases are skyrocketing and here at work, probably a third of those that actually come into the office are in quarantine.

They are putting up even more stern signs....
