Drone Riot for no reason
« on: May 28, 2016, 06:27:10 PM »
Running SMAX (GOG) with Yitzi's Patch v3.4 and PRACX v1.08, plus a new icons.pcx from another thread.
Game on a huge map with tech stagnation on either Thinker or Librarian (can't recall).

In the mid-2300's some of my larger bases have started having drone riots for unknown reasons. There has been more than one, but the base in the screenshot has one drone and one talent, so to my knowledge there should be no riot?? I've never seen this happen before. I don't know if this is intended, a bug in SMAX, or a bug in Yitzi's Patch? Or maybe my drones just don't like the new unworked resource icons?

PRACX shouldn't make any change at all to the gameplay mechanics; it's all just presentation stuff.

Yitzi did make drone riot calculations configurable. You could check his documentation and your alphax.txt to see if you're using one of his different modes.

One that might apply permits specialists to be drones too. Check "Codes keys.txt" for more info. Or the wiki.

To add: The number after PSYCH (that -1) shows your real drone/talent balance; you have one surplus drone.  From the looks of it, you seem to have a "superdrone" (particularly likely when playing  ;zak; under drone codes 16-31 and 48-63), and also have a drone code that makes "superdrones" count double toward drone/talent balance (that would be codes 8-15,24-31,40-47, and 56-63); together, they would cause the effect you see.
