How is your cold tolerance?

Thermometer says 10  (-12 everywhere else)
Wind chill is -6 (-21)

Can feel the wiskers immediately freeze as you step out.

I'm in a sweat shirt.  And people were shocked to see me actually don that for the first time yesterday.  (usually I just need it from the parking lot to the building, then don't wear it the rest of the day, even if I have to head outside)

I don't know why, particularly.  Long slow buildup of tolerance.  If I was still working outside, this would be a day I'd wear the carharts (insulated coveralls), plus the jacket and gloves, and likely hat.  Used to work in refridgerated warehouses, and later other buildings that lacked heat in the winter.

Which system(s) are you using?

I think in Celsius.

Used to be good but nothing special. Declined somewhat as I had a nasty cold or four a while back and for a time my body overreacted to cold. Last night I was able to 26F/-3C in shorts and a hoodie (and ankle socks, no boot socks cheating) for several minutes without issue. But sometimes I still need to wear socks indoors. :(

In the past, I have considered getting t-shirts that had "No, I'm not cold" printed on them so I wouldn't have to keep answering the question. People in the DC area, with the exception of particular transplants (e.g., Minnesotans), are very very soft.

I said layers.

Actually I have a harder time with heat. Say, over 90 ( 32 ). I always wear long sleeves and pants for sun protection, and usually a safari hat.

As we say here  in the middle of the continent, if you don't like the cold, relocate. Due to lung issues, I don't go out in freezing air without a reason. When I do, I dress according to intended level of activity. I don't mind the cold, so much, but I have been known to complain about the consequences, such as engines that won't start, frozen water pipes, and the biggest annoyance being when you have to chip ice every time you want to open a door. Our barns had trolley type doors. I don't miss that part.

I never was one to wear shorts to a football game, though.

Who hasn't?

One of my biggest pet peeves is people that want the indoor thermostat at 75 in the winter and 65 in the summer.  Just leave it at 65...

As I recall, 65 is below a comfortable room temperature. While I don't have a difficult time with cold outside in the winter, inside is a different thing.
