I already watched the whole movie once and some fragments more than once.

Actually it was years ago, on Apolyton? or somewhere else I read about SMACX using Baraka fragments for SP movies. Often we see Weather Paradigm early in the game and I was wondering where from they got it. SP movies are mostly 3D animations - done on comps, or many have used Baraka: WP, Ascetic Virtues?, Coning Vats, PTS, etc.
Then I got it to watch from a video rental.
Later I bought a DVD(CD-ish...) version for like 3-4 bucks. Unfortunately, it is so compressed, that on higher resolutions you see jpg-like artifacts... Very disappointing, considering, they filmed the movie on some wider film, in order to have high resolution good looking images.
Now they mention blue-ray release here. But I am not sure, if I buy it. Maybe later.

I am thinking about new movies for UMod. So recently I take a look at these things.

Civ2 movies were interesting and before SMAC they looked good. When I later watched SMAC movies, it was like "wow!" And probably in large part due to Baraka.
Civ3 had only few movies, and no wonder movies !!!!
Civ4, interesting idea, but so "sterile"
Civ5 Is it civ still? 1upt makes it a chess game for me and not a grand strategy game. Anyway, I even do not remember wonder movies were there or not.

I also do not remember Call to Power movies. But CTP1 was a very interesting game. CTP2 kinda disaster.

In short: SMACX so far had the most interesting movies (for me).

Ok, I am just watching civ5 movies on YT... Zoom out and pan images with some voice over... Done in freeware movie maker by Microsoft? Friday evening... all of them?

If theres one thing I do miss its wonder movies. They don't make them like this anymore.

I miss them in Pandora and the more recent Civs. They really add to the experience, IMHO.

Would be nice to get some higher definition ones for SMAC, though. If anyone has some contacts with firaxis, perhaps they could ask for us?

Otherwise, the videos that are all Baraka clips can be recreated with a bit of elbow grease or a clever program, but I don't think that's many of them.
