Better than okay voice.  Geo seemed impressed.

I used to be an adequate tenor, and a good base - that was before being loud in renfairs for nine years hurt my upper range.  I fancy my bass range is still pretty solid.

I never thought about whether somebody I knew in a forum could sing or not before. It was a "Hey, wait! Wasn't Camelot a musical? moment for me. I figure there's a high correlation between having an ear for voices & accents and having an ear for relative musical pitch, so it makes sense that you can and did. I simply don't remember you mentioning singing.

Even before my inner ear problems, I couldn't carry a tune in a bucket.

Since I can't hold a tone, I'm easily impressed with anyone with a good voice. ;)

That's for sure!
Even a Merlin would be thing.

You know, somebody claims to be an actor, assume they're a decent singer.  Exceptions are a distinct minority.

Here's what I did yesterday...

Why not a barking dog? Or a stealthy cat? ;)

Because the show I made this for a webpage background -it embiggens- was set in a beauty shop run by a single mother.  Her five year-old, running around the shop and irritating the customer -note her expression changing- was played by a beachball they'd bounce across the stage.  Really.

Don't know if I'd elevate myself to ACTOR, but certainly scare-actor.

My singing is covered by the constitution under cruel and unusual punishment.  Though I can pull off reasonably convincing demonic chanting.

Besides the selection pressure, it's a matter of you can't do a lot of plays w/o getting a good deal of semi-formal training.  The dancing didn't much take, but I'm not hopeless at that, either - not for an abundance of talent.

There's a fair bit of training that goes into the haunt actors if you are part of any quality establishment.  But it wouldn't equate.  I imagine it's the difference between close up magic and stage magic.  In fact, the biggest skill involved on the haunting side of things is the ability to read people.  You have to pick the target out of a group in order to get the reaction.  I think that's why so many of the people who get real interested in it tend to come from fairly [poop]ty circumstances where that was a survival skill.

[Language - please watch the compound words so I don't have to.]

Yeah; working in a dirt-floor theme park is at least as much like that -and they all got childhood horror stories, now that you mention it- as doing plays, though the singing and dancing do come into it...

Time dilates as the speed of light approaches. To the extent that light consists of particles, it is in its own way, timeless. Through simple perturbations of the temporal manifold, we can refract or repel photons most efficiently.
