K, for the sake of world peace I'll keep you as the firewall.   Expect a modest infodump in the future when I eventually get an annotated list of my finds together.  Might drop a small one of my all-time favs sooner.
All this talk of fungus and worms makes me hungry...

She'd actually appreciate that as she's looking for new stuff all the time, part of why we signed up for crunchyroll.  She doesn't mind subs, either in case it wasn't obvious.

Extra super bonus points if there's any in Mandarin you know of on there.  (i know that's not technically anime, but neither is a few other things on there, and I know enough to know it exists)

Alec is a little less enthusiastic about the anime right now but still watches some as well.

This pretty much sums up our Halloween perfectly:

The modest (by our standards) display:

Since I haven't posted the full altar of greed since 2005...(note social distance markers on the driveway)

Yes, them be individually packaged doughnuts.  The local grocer always makes us doughnuts, they were kind enough to include individual packs for us this year. (and gave me a discount to our agreed upon price even)

Lake Tahoe jacket is Kyle's +1.  That's relatively new, but we like her so far.

Thundersnow is a cool experience. It feels like the weather and seasons are mixed together.
It never happened to me in PA, but it's common enough in WI that I don't remember how many times it's happened. Sort of like hail.

So, I've been contacted by a company I've never heard of.  They want Trevor 2.0 as a prototype to make a mold.

What would be a reasonable price/contract?

$10,000 and a couple points of the net.

It's a negotiating position.  Your IP is valuable - be bold, not least because I figure you could use the money, but don't want it all that bad...

There's already to cheap knockoffs on the market I'm aware of, both aimed at the home market.  I'm sure these folks are aiming for the professional haunt market.

I'm severely tempted to do a Trevor 3.0 with a mind specifically for it to make a mold and crank out much better home market items.  You'd need them profitable at ~$150 price point to the customer to blow the current options out of the water, but it would be a BIG seller.

Interesting.

Very Interesting. I really admire Trevor ( although I'm a bigger fan of Unorthodox Monsters ). My wife would probably accept a Trevor, but not a creepy monster as a yard decoration based upon her reactions to the Uno photos I show her.  My consideration would be does it break down easily for storage in a pair of plastic leaf bags?  Does he fit inside his sarcophagus or something so as not to use so much space inside my home in the off season? Besides, having a Trevor sounds like a justification for a fog and snow making machine.

Regardless, if you do decide to go Trevor 3.0 commercial, tell me how and and I'll pre-order.

eh...probably.  I'm not really looking to make a job of things, and I'm uncomfortable on one side of the kickstarter equation, I'd be a wreck on the other side.

I really need a pic of 2.0's storage system.  A theoretical 3.0 commercial variant would likely be a 5x3x3 box, I would think, and would present a big challenge for shipping.  I'm opposed to the idea of breaking the lid down to smaller than a 5' height, though.  Theoretically, the walls could be built to nest inside each other and potentially the lid, though.

Looking at the home depot tomb, a split lid is possible, but I'd want to design that as a feather rather than an unintended consequence of shipping.

I realize Trevor is best a single piece, but that's what I had in mind, being able to either nest him in the sarcophagus, or break it down and stack it beside or below him. 5x3x3 is workable, especially if it can be stood upright. Or maybe I should just put in some overhead garage racks. I need to do that anyway.

Trevor 2.0 breaks down and stacks upright in about a 6x3x4 space.  Switching to a blown plastic material instead of foam would let that all nest a lot to cut down on the 4' direction.  That would take partnering with a blown plastic manufacturer willing to make a custom job of it, though.

Fiberglass would be doable in house, but is likely to blow the $150 price point you're shooting for.

Theoretically, they could make a vacuform machine big enough to make copies that way, no molds needed.  I don't know if there's a vacuform company around or if they make it thick enough to be useful here...though this COULD make a super cheap and easy mold for other materials to cast.

In house, I could fairly easily do an absorption mold, which means a latex skin backed with foam as construction.  I'd estimate about $60 in materials to make a copy there and if you count painting, probably about 2 hours of labor per copy.  This would mean no nesting though.

Our first challenge is to create an entire economic infrastructure, from top to bottom, out of whole cloth. No gradual evolution from previous economic systems is possible, because there is no previous economic system. Each interdependent piece must be materialized simultaneously and in perfect working order.. otherwise the system will crash out before it ever gets off the ground.
