Ended up not getting much of anything done over the weekend.  Though I had some more raw material, but nope, had to delay more work on Mother.

Finished up the cast of Talia instead.

The backup is day of the dead skelly again.  I'm a little worried it'll be less weather resistent though (makeup can be just miserable in the heat).  She actually HAS a good Wednesday look when she can pull it off. 

Might just go with the dress and let one of the pros at the event paint her skelly, though.  Pics could be worth the $

Well, she's pretty, brunette, has a mom skilled with braiding and is the right size/age, so Wednesday's a gimme - but I could see taking it sorta goth pink with Talia as Wednesday's identical cousin Tuesday who's creepy in an entirely different way despite dressing alike...

Been wondering if we could (safely) temporary dye her hair pink.  I'm unskilled in this kind of thing, and hEt doesn't have dark hair, so she don't know either. 

Once tried the hair chalk stuff to no avail.  And colored hairspray is messy. 

I could do a Wednesday Addams hairstyle, though, that's why it's on the short list.  Focus on what I'm capable of.  hEt's working that day. 

I THINK I could possibly maybe sorta do a beauty makeup someday with minimal practice needed.  I mean, I know the IDEA...just haven't really played with that stuff much.  (Once even explored the possibility of using the eye shadows and whatnot for costume purposes, only to discover they hardly impact my skin tone anyway, and I'd need to do a foundation first, at which point I may as well stick with the stage stuff.)

Again, I think the Wednesday look -not trying to reinvent the wheel in the next two weeks- but come up with some funny patter that fits Talia's personality, and sell it with the performance.  I just know she casually does this anyway, day-to-day, 'cause your acolyte.

I gained some small mastery of beauty makeup in my youth as part of stage makeup -there were always these horrid older fat girls with no taste making boys up like street hookers, so I learned for myself out of self-respect- and I didn't think it was much of a challenge for someone with color vision and a little talent and good taste.  I ended up able to make up some younger (but college age) girl cousins better than they could themselves - even they thought so...

-Also?  Dunno how to get around her dark hair, but red coolaide is cheap and works really well on blondes.  Little bit tough to wash out afterwards, but doable.

That was the trouble with the chalk stuff.  There's some team colors dyes for sports events I'm curious to try.

HOWEVER, Mask is a no-no for school.  So, we're just kind of combining the ideas into something original. 

Anyway, I THINK I have the head down.  At least, I have a game plan for the head. 

I got some fake leaves and flowers in fall colors, and I can EITHER make a crown out of them OR if she'll let me I can actually blend the edge, latexing some/some moss onto her forehead at the edge to make it look more like it's growing out of her.  (she's very nervous about the latexing in general, Alec had an issue with some one year.)  hEt is looking for a suitable stretchy headband thingy like she wears running, I can latex the leaves directly to the band to make it all easy on/off/stayput. 

Now the DRESS....is giving me fits.

Alec-zander above was such a perfectly simple construction, but I'm thinking I want to make this one look like it's made of bark.  For which I'm having trouble.  Do I attempt to FIND bark (which I pulled a bunch, but it's too, well, it's not gonna work).  Do I try to sculpt it?  (notoriously hard) Do I mold it? (Possible.   Very possible) Then how do I get it on, paint, etc.  And what do we put under shirt wise, or for the skirt?

Well, we got maple leaves going on the head, and a fall color theme going, so green is out.  I don't want the dress to blend into the head, mostly.  I would possibly entertain the idea of using either my raven grass (green brown and red coloring, really pretty dried), or dried corn leaves as a skirt (easier, but drab), even, but they present certain challenges.  Some of which I could counter (dried tending to break), some not so much (edges can be itch/cutty).
