It's some kind of bizarre old catholic death ritual thing according to the article.  Supposedly showing the glory true believers will inherit.  Click the link in the post above that pic for more.  Most the historical remains of this practice have been lost to looting (and with all that gold and jewels, can't say I'm surprised)

Most of the remains are fairly ugly, IMO, but that armor piece is fantastic, and THE HANDS!  However they preserved (or sculpted on the bones, haven't decided) the hands was remarkable.

There's also a couple creepy 'eyes' in the set. 

The armor is a retrofit on that particular skeleton, it was originally in roman armor, then someone changed it in the 17th century for whatever reason. 

There's a second suit of armor I wish they had a better pic of.  Heart shaped hole cut into the chest which appears hollowed out and having something inside.  Need better angle, stupid artsy photography crap.

Though, rewatching as an adult, there is a creepy factor to ET I never caught as a kid, with the whole sucking the life out of the boy thing/symbiotic relation whatever...don't know why that never registered to me as a child.

Fridays are physical labor days (normally the rest of the week I actually have to wear business casual, which is hilarious for those that know me) rearrange furniture and stuff as we're moving a few hundred people around for the next couple months.  No problem there.  Get one done early in the morning, then spend most the day rearranging an entire section according to the drawing.  It's been a long, hard, day.  Ripped my favorite shirt, worked through lunch, am just putting the last couple screws into the last office space. 

"Well, that's not what I wanted at all!" 

Show him the drawing HE drew. 

"Yeah, but I wanted it this way instead.  Fix it."

 Uh.  NO. 

Then the girls upstairs don't like the morning rearrangement either, cause now they can SEE each other at their desks (they asked for this), and don't like that. 

I just want to crawl home, shower and bed, but I can't.  Started a marinade last night for Chicken Tikka Masala.  It's a bit of a process to cook, but now it's got to be done.  Then the Boss wants us to go to a C word thing.  The whole church christmas themed "Journey to Bethlehem" thing from the jerks that don't want my help.  Normally I'd be all for that, but I'm really not feeling up to it right now.
