I think I'll finish this game today, now I'm healthyish again. I'll go for a mixed strategy then, not diving into war, but taking it soonish anyway, and building a few SPs/seabases as I go.

Next game?

All aquatic?

All land?

Tiny map with someone horrible early (yay morgan. morgan early vs crazy things is the main way i've lost games recently though, so maybe i'd use less monster factions. it's no fun being antimind rushed when you just can't deal with that. though i once managed to beat marr as morgan on an island with only mt planet+4 squares... it takes too many scout patrols to beat a battle ogre..)

I'm vaguely tempted to try the pilgrims (-1 indust/econ, no fm, +1 planet and fanatic, cent eco start, free hypno trance) on very large a low native map vs mostly builder factions and some monsters, maybe with something making most of them hate me from the start. They have large enough penalties to slow me down, but not large enough that it'll just be super annoying to play. Would be fun to have a mid-late game challenge rather than just an early one with mid-late being cleanup.

Pilgrims are out. Maybe I'll free them later.

No peace with Mirriam.

Just what I need :). I'll switch over my most advanced SP producing base to this.

And up my nut production at sea, while opening the way for tree farms (and hybrid forests soon after). Supply crawlers are kinda unfair vs comp so I usually avoid them, unless I'm in insane situations, to up the challenge. Knowledge would be nice, but I'm keen to get tree farms asap.

Maybe I should take some of these peace offers and focus on annihilators?

Knowledge, yay. No effic bonus for yang, but research bonuses are always nice.

I.. really want to accept, but the fact that I've lost a lot of impact rovers defending that base up north from mirriam and antimind, and annihilators have a significant army in my territory, makes me wary. I'll join you in the fight later, comrade, when I have a larger army and industry ready to back you up.

Mirriam's getting serious, sending battalions of impact/plasma steel troops at that base. I've attached it to my road network, and am trying to clear out the fungus to remove the defensive bonus, but it's still draining my army somewhat given that only a couple of bases are producing rovers right now. Looking forward to PEG and plentiful energy for rushing.

yeaaaa, there we go. No more energy worries for a while, and when the sea bases/hybrid forests get going, loads of energy.

Less good. Ah well, let's fight then >:D

Any bets on how many turns they'll last? I have only 10 impact rovers right now, and most are dedicated to fighting mirriam (top of the powergraph) and antimind (same level of powergraph power as me). Current year is 2222.

establishing in the ocean. clearing out the annihilator stragglers.

It's nice when you can triple your energy reserves with one probe action.

Offline ete

Not enough votes available to buy to win it :(

And.. aaaaaaaa. They blew up my probe with a probe, then MCed the base I was holding most of my defenses in. That will actually be really annoying.

Offline ete

Infiltrated, not too bad. Only one tech to steal, but oh well. Mass producing probes, one as defense is not enough for frontline bases.

Got cent emp, killed a rover. Redirecting the force I was going to attack annihilators with to here.

Killed a large stack of believing troops, should be able to retake base in a couple turns. Not sure if I want to though, current position lets me defend more cost-effectively due to lay of the land and defensive terrain.

Offline ete

Believers take an okayish SP. Would've been nice for a sea base, but hard to make SPs at sea due to lack of mins.

.. huh. After being killed twice, the Exterminatus is still able to take a base off the powergraph leader. Impressive.

And excellent. Now I can get 4 nuts per sea square with aquafarm, and grow some serious bases.

Why not double my weapon power?

Offline ete

My old base has only one defender, and I have four impact rovers, but the current layout is much easier to defend without losing much. I'm going to focus on the Annihilators for a few turns before coming back to mirriam, possibly with chaos weapons.

Also: Draining 700+ ECs from a faction in one turn is fun.

Offline ete

yay VW. Far less important to yang than most, but it's always nice.

First pop, and before I start my tree farms too :)

Not.. quite sure where all those defenders are hanging out.. but almost undefended base, cool. Even came with a free AA.

Offline ete

Checking out the Annihilator's last two bases, looks like going for the top one will kill a whole lot of units by cutting off support, despite the base only having a few defenders. The lower base has a very large number of defenders, so I'll go for it last.

Got another fungal pop at the same base as before. Maybe should slow a bit.

Stole off the believers.

Man's unfailing capacity to believe what he prefers to be true rather than what the evidence shows to be likely and possible has always astounded me. We long for a caring Universe which will save us from our childish mistakes, and in the face of mountains of evidence to the contrary we will pin all our hopes on the slimmest of doubts. God has not been proven not to exist, therefore he must exist.
