If you refuse to judge by the WRITTEN specification, then it is only fair to give notice of the new requirements, and extend the deadline to meet the new requirements.  That is only fair.

the deadline is extended till March 10, 2012 because the rules regarding the end of the scenario were not clear enough.
i hope this is an acceptable compromise for everyone.

Ok, I already wrote a PM (rather cryptic) about it, but i will write post here too:

I'm standing with Earthmichael with this - notice that both of my saves were also from the moment when i seized the city - and you had to click end turn. I also thought that i was sending the moment i won the scenario. So propose to include the last Earthmicheal submit, and make future victory conditions of the scenarios more foolproof.

PS (Speaking about foolproof, I think that in 'Warcrimes II' there is no condition about: harder difficulty winnings, always beating easier difficulty winnings.)

If nothing else this scenario has helped iron out a few of the vague areas of some of the rules. Good work everybody, and thanks for being civil about it all too.

I just checked and you are right!  The victory objectives definitely need to be updated to include difficulty level as the first critera!

This was a very interesting scenario, where a precison navel sneak attack can be done much faster than bulldozing your way through on the ground.  It was also interesting that you could have +2 Planet near some heavy land and sea fungus, so that you could troll fungus on the sea and on the land.  And it is sort of exponential.  I was lucky that I captured an IOD very early with my starting ship.  Because my ship could only troll 2 fungus/turn, while the IOD can troll 4 fungus per turn, giving 3x as much chance of discovering another IOD.  And once you get the second IOD, you can troll 10 fungus per turn, and so on.

Thanks for creating the scenario and running the contest!  I hope these contests result in a resurgance of interest in SMAC(X), still the best civ games ever created!
