I've been playing an indie game by the name of Salem and it's predecessor on and off for a few years now, generally joining other peoples groups but I'm now looking to form my own.

Salem is without a doubt the most brutal game you have ever played, it is a single world sandbox MMO with almost totally unrestricted Permanent-death.  The combat is twitch based and their are factions with absurdly powerful characters that we will need to be wary of.  The game is fairly grindy but it's unique in that grinding is almost all through the creation of crafted items which are then consumed to build your characters skills and attributes.  The art style is unique and some would describe the characters as 'chiby', the theme is that of early colonial America, aka Salem witch trials.

The game grew out of an indie project by two Swedes who then shopped the idea to Paradox games for awhile, when that fell through a group of player actually bought the rights to the game and have been making rapid progress in monthly patches.

Check out the game at http://www.salemthegame.com/

If your interested in playing me and a few of my friends reply here or PM me.  Casual play is fine and were setting up a TeamSpeak server to use too.

Planet's atmosphere, though a gasping death to humans and most animals, is paradise for Earth plants. The high nitrate content of the soil and the rich yellow sunlight bring an abundant harvest wherever adjustments can be made for the unusual soil conditions.
~Lady Deirdre Skye 'A Comparative Biology of Planet'
