Any code monkeys around?
« on: November 29, 2017, 09:15:54 PM »
I'm able to stumble through basic HTML 4 or older just fine...few trial and errors, but I can at least understand and find where I messed up...

Anyone have any CSS knowledge?

My present conundrum is trying to inject one particular thing mid page.  (think a banner between the forum sections)

Theoretically, this could be done with the <p style=> tag for what I'm inserting.

However, it either deletes everything below when I close the tag, OR it just don't work when all the style rules I've looked up SHOULD work, and DO when I add them one at a time.  I can even get any combo of 2 to work.  Beyond that everything breaks.

I only know it well enough to mess around - not remember from a description and talk anyone through it.

I have often been asked: if we have traveled between the stars, why can we not launch the simplest of orbital probes? These fools fail to understand the difficulty of finding the appropriate materials on this Planet, of developing adequate power supplies, and creating the infrastructure necessary to support such an effort. In short, we have struggled under the limitations of a colonial society on a virgin planet. Until now.
