AI continues paying loan forever

In a recent game, I loaned the Gaians some energy at terms of 6/turn for 75 turns.  250 turns later I learned, according to the Energy Banks status page, that I was STILL receiving payments on the loan, with the balance around (negative) 1050.  Payment had never been suspended due to Vendetta.

I was playing SMAX with the XP and Scient's patch, but nothing else, on Win10.  Has anyone else seen this?

I have not, and I make loans any chance I can, interest being free money if you can take the immediate cash on hand hit - but everyone declares vendetta eventually, and it's possible that I haven't missed it happening because it never has.

Thinking about this some more, I THINK there was sunspot activity (aka communications disruptions) during the turn the loan should have ended, but Dierdre contacted me several times thereafter for tech trades and the loan never once came up in conversations.

I believe, if the borrower has no energy to pay next payment, then that payment is added to the debt. Maybe Deidre just was continually low on cash?

No, I don't believe that's it, as by the end of the game (Dierdre managed to survive that long, with my help), her balance was something like -1050.  It should have been positive if that were the case.

And I confirmed that I actually was receiving payment for her - I checked her balance sheet in the Governor Infiltrator screen.
