  In my professional opinion as a Botanist, you just need a better looking tuber.  Google up some botanical and culinary illustrations of the many wild and weard species with fat underground stems.  You're sure to find one that suits your self-image.
  The hundreds of strange-looking potato varietes grown in the Andes might be a good starting point.

  Be careful to steer away from the look-alikes that arn't real stem tissues: No turnips or carrots (root), or onions (leaves).

  If I remember correctly, the -ski ending is primarily Polish, so the 'tater is a fitting choice (at least for the last three hundred years).  Plus, belonging to the famed Polish Underground would be a great honor
