When upgrading all instances of a particular unit via the Workshop, units which have expended any of their movement points are erroneously upgraded when they should not be and all units retain their movement points instead of having them expended by the process of being upgraded. Would probably require a script warning as well as multiple checks regarding retiring a unit design or obsoleting it. Definitely not a fix for the faint of heart.
