The people cannot understand science even if wasn't corrupt.  As for global warming, it would do wonders for siberia - just as solar power would do wonders for the U.S. economy.

Brazil was a desert during the last ice age.  I don't live there, but my understanding is that Brazil is actually a rather temperate country.  It it became warmer rather than colder, then perhaps they should count their blessings.

That's exactly right.  It's a bad idea to lump it in with more practical concerns which can actually be addressed.

I could walk all the way up to Ireland back in that age. Can't do that anymore due to the 'global warming' since then. And I'm pretty sure the Berber ancestors weren't happy to see their homelands turn into a sandbox.
