Not creepier then a computer program talking back to you.

Computer programs don't have bodies nor are they teaching kids to go to the damn toy for conversation.

:-[  I'm available for the project, BTW - or not, depending on whatever's more convenient for y'all.  I'd definitely try to get it to Zkribbler and others abroad first, if practical, for the foreign exotic location(s) - and I really doubt two months is anything like time to do it right.

Yeah, Talia chose to do more US stops than a couple overseas ones.

It's been to Colorado>Louisiana (the colorado folks took it to louisiana with them to the Halloween convention)>Oklahoma and is now on it's way to Texas.  We're kinda in a wait and see how far we can get mode.

I believe it goes Texas (halloween group event this weekend...)>Florida (disney/beach)>Virginia>New York>most the great lakes states(forget the order I worked out trying to keep mail times short, don't have the list here)>Canada>Washington>Oregon>California>Home

I keep getting more volunteers.  Can't remember off top of my head, where'd you move to?

It WILL make it to Canada, there's a couple 8 year olds up there waiting for it.  If I have to cut some other stuff out, so be it.

I'm back in America/North Carolina.  You have the address if you need it.

Do I?  not sure at the moment.

Mind is pretty stretched right now between overtime, organizing this, and suddenly having to care for a mother in law that can no longer so much as feed herself or make it to the bathroom all springing up in the last couple weeks.

Overtime should be done though.

If you end up needing it, I'll PM.  I don't really remember if you sent the face here or to Texas, either.

The uncanny valley effect at work if I ever saw it in action. :D

Now that I won't spoil the surprise for the intended recipient, I thought I'd post pictures of the doll makeover project I recently completed.  I wanted to create a doll of a Star Trek OC (original character) created by a friend of mine.  I started with a Monster High doll because they have nice big heads for repainting and I needed golden skin for this character.  Here's the face I started with

First step was to remove the hair...

...and the makeup.  Since I'm out of practice, I cheated a little and left the original brows and eyeliner.

Next, I soaked the head in hot water for 30 seconds in order to soften the vinyl sufficiently to removed the head from the body without cracking the long fragile neck.  I then removed the remaining hair plugs by reaching inside the head with needle-nosed pliers.

Thanks!   :D Have been sick a lot since Christmas, but am trying to get back into the swing of things again..

Okay -- on to the face painting.  First I work on the whites of the eyes.  I tried to shape the white by using a little gray at the corners, but my acrylics are getting a little old and don't blend as well as I'd like.
